We are excited to announce our upcoming spring break camp at Capricorn Equestrian! Join us from March 11-15, 2024, for a fun and educational experience tailored for ages 6-14. Back when i was younger , and worked younger horses……the ones that like to go fast with no soeed throttle were expected to help ride the wet arena dry. Comment if you know. Everyone at Capricorn pre 2000 remembers riding the arena dry. Man we got some horses worked out of taking off. We rode no matter what.
Glad i have covered pen now. None of my guys now need this training

What are the “Lessons” you want to learn?

There are lots of barns that teach lessons. There are not alot of barns that focus on sharing and teaching the skills required to train in ANY discipline. Programs often focus on speed events that don’t always require technical skills to compete and focus only on methods to improve times. That often involves methods that can limit growth if over practiced and become “bad” habits. When it comes to formal equitation, you can only learn what an instructor can teach you.
A program run by a head instructor with over 30yrs experience and educated at an equine college, at Capricorn you can insure you are being taught the right way. We believe that one should only be taught to ride to at level that they are physically and mentally capable of supporting. Not everyone is a fit for formal training. It is not the easy way to learn. If you want to keep riding beyond your youth. If you want to compete or TRAIN your own horse. If you want to improve the quality of your rides and understand how to properly exercise/work a horse, let us train you. Anyone who rides or competes will improve by riding at Capricorn.

come take a lesson from a professional to learn what you don’t know. We even offer a fun “Lesson Horse Challenge” for those who are “experienced” to see how solid their skills are. We feature a program that allows you to ride regularly with access that cost far less than owning your own horse. Sign up for monthly membership for the 9/23-5/24. We have the right kind of HORSES to help you become your best. We train riders to understand that in order to be in control of the horse one must first control themselves in nearly all aspects. Our program is built on developing posture and control while putting milage rather than “time”
on the horse. We teach foundational concepts that apply to all disciplines of riding. If you ride, Capricorn can help make you better.

Where you learn to ride makes all the difference. Both these ladies have ridden weekly for the last year+. They definitely represent what is possible if you are physically capable and put in the miles. These horses are not maintained by a trainer and each of the riders are just over 4ft and 50lbs. They worked 11 horses on June 30th. I am proud of the work they have put in on making a memory that will last forever
