Nevada Missouri Animal Shelter The Nevada Animal Shelter is the local city shelter. We take in animals from the City of Nevada and try to find their people or find them new homes.

The Nevada Animal Shelter is a place for the lost or surrendered pets of The City of Nevada, to find warmth, food, fresh water, love and attention. All age-appropriate animals adopted out from the shelter will be spayed or neutered, have had age appropriate vaccines, have had parasite prevention, & will be microchipped. We try to keep an updated Adoptable Pets Album with our most current pets. So,

🐾Miss Rossi has been with us for 295 days. She is a bird dog mix that is around 1 1/2 years old. She has already been spayed, is current on vaccines, is microchipped, and has had parasite prevention. Rossi is a young female dog with lots of love to give! She's a quiet girl, but that just means she's a great listener and a loyal companion. Rossi is very affectionate and loves to cuddle up on the couch with her favorite humans. She's also an adventurous spirit who loves to explore the great outdoors, sniffing and investigating all that catches her interest. Although she can be a bit shy when she meets new people, Rossi is a friendly dog who will warm up to you in no time. She is in need of a family that can give her lots of attention and love, and she promises to return the favor by being a sweet and gentle companion. For whatever reason, Mopsy is the last lady standing for our adoptable cats!!! She has been waiting 135 days for her new home.🥺🤷🏻‍♀️ She is a sweet girl that loves attention and would make a great addition to any household. Arthur got to have some one-on-one volunteer time today! He got a bath and then got to play with a snuffle mat. This is a great form of enrichment for dogs. Arthur has been here since August. Our Story

The Nevada Animal Shelter is a place for the lost, surrendered, and neglected animals of The City of Nevada. All animals adopted out from the shelter will have their beginner vaccines, worming, flea and tick medication, and will be micro chipped. Dogs will be heartworm tested if over the age of 1 year. The adoption fees for the shelter are as follows: Dogs - $25+cost of spay/neuter, rabies vaccine, and microchip fee. Cats - $20+cost of spay/neuter, rabies vaccine, and microchip fee. (Cost for spay/neuter may vary, depending on which local vet clinic you choose to have the animal spayed/neutered at.) City Tags costs are as follows: Spayed/Neutered Dogs: $5.00 Intact Dogs: $10.00 City Tags can be bought here at the shelter, at Nevada Vet Clinic, or 54 Vet Clinic, and at the Nevada Police Department. Proof of a current rabies vaccine must be present when buying city tags. Reclaim Fees: When an animal is brought into the shelter a reclaim fee is automatically set. Cats 1st day reclaim: $9 Dogs 1st day reclaim:$14 These fees go up $4 a day until the animal is reclaimed. Dogs being reclaimed must have proof of a current rabies vaccine, and if the owner resides in the city, the dog must also have current city tags. Fees for both are as follows: Rabies Vaccine Fee: $12.00 City Tags: $5.00(spayed/neutered) or $10.00(Intact) These fees must be paid along with the reclaim fee before the dog will be allowed to leave the shelter. If you have an animal call contact the non-emergency line at 417-448-2710 and they will dispatch our Animal Control Officer or a Police Officer. All of us here at the animal shelter love animals.
