HIGHWAY 30 CLOSURES:
With the closure of the S/14-West 3rd street highway exit, if you take Highway 30 to come to our clinic, you will need to find an alternative route.

---If you come from the West, e.g. Ames, before you get to Nevada (just before the John Deere dealership) you can take the exit to West 18th street and come down Lincoln Way. You can also take the 6th street exit (the one after our exit) and take the first left after the railroad tracks to come down E Avenue.

---If you come from the East, from Colo, you will either need to take the 19th street exit by McDonalds to come down E Avenue or the 6th street exit to E Avenue.

Lincoln Way should not have any closures at this time, which makes another alternative coming from either direction.

Please plan accordingly if you have appointments coming up in the next week, and call us any time at 515-382-2400 if you have questions.

UPDATE: Jasper was adopted!

LOVER BOY AVAILABLE: This sweet guy is the perfect cat: affectionate, happy, friendly, doesn't seem to mind new people, and would probably do well around other animals. We received him in as a stray, but have since neutered him, got him vaccinated, and named him Jasper.
If you would like this charming lap cat, please call us at 515-382-2400 to schedule a time to meet him.

--Don't forget to check out our other two cats: Lea and Sunny, who are both also still waiting for their forever homes. https://www.facebook.com/nevadavetclinicia/posts/974985910945532

UPDATE: All kitties have been adopted into loving homes :)
ADOPTABLE KITTIES GALORE: We currently have 3 cats that are ready to go to their forever homes. Each came in as a stray, but have since been vaccinated, leukemia tested, and all were spayed and neutered.

-Coal (ADOPTED): all black, is very social, talkative, and doesn't mind being picked up and held, but is a super playful and independent guy. We believe he is fairly young, and would be great in any family household.
-Sunny(ADOPTED): brown tiger, is more on the shier, anxious side, and would need time to settle into a new home. He is a sweet boy, but he likes his safe spaces.
-Lea: (ADOPTED) tortoiseshell, incredibly sweet and talkative, and will demand your attention. Loves to sit in laps to be pet, and really likes catnip. She is about 2 years old.

If you are interested in adopting any of these three, please call us at 515-382-2400 to set up a time to come see them.

UPDATE: She has been adopted!

PRECIOUS GIRL AVAILABLE: This little cutie, who we've named Mabel, came to us last week as a stray found in Nevada, and is now ready for her forever home.

Mabel is a ball of energy, and is VERY treat motivated, but is always purring. She'll also jump right into your lap if you invite her up, though she may try to make a toy out of the nearest item to you. She is very social and curious, is not afraid to go exploring, and will make a great pet for any family.

She has been spayed, vaccinated, tested negative for feline leukemia/FIV, so she's ready to go any time. We think she's fairly young, as she's very petite and still has that kitten energy. If you're interested in meeting Mabel, please call us at 515-382-2400 to set up a time to come see her!

DO YOU KNOW ME: This little guy was just picked up by 10th street and would like to go back to his home. He is neutered, and seems to have been recently treated for fleas, but has no microchip or tags.

If he belongs to you, or you know who he may belong to, you can call us at 515-382-2400 for instructions on reclaiming, or go straight to City Hall in downtown Nevada.

CUTE UPDATE: Remember the sweet kitties from our last adoption post for Rocco and his BFF Cricket? Some of you may have even seen these two playing behind the desk at the clinic and how attached they were, though Cricket (orange swirl, stubby tail), had already been spoken for. This meant we needed to find a good home for Rocco that could handle his energy (toddler boy behavior) and love for other cats.

Once Cricket went home to her adopter, Rocco became very sad, crying out for his friend, and now had to play by himself behind the desk, and was acting out for attention. Then, just 3 days after Cricket was adopted, we got a call from her adopter asking if Rocco was still there, and if he could go home to be with them again--and within 30 minutes, he was reunited!

Now called Magenta and Riff Raff, these two babies spend all day cuddling, causing chaos, and playing with their other cat and dog siblings in their new home. They'll get to spend the rest of their life together--just the way Riff Raff likes it.

UPDATE: Rocco has been adopted!

ACTIVE BOY AVAILABLE: This little wild man, who we've named Rocco, came to us after being found in Nevada wandering around all alone. We introduced him to our other stray kitten we have here and he has loved it, but is now ready for his new home. Rocco's hobbies include: jumping up on the filing cabinet, attacking shoes, knocking over pictures, scaling the chairs (and people) and playing WWE with his girl friend. He will definitely need another kitten or cat friend to befriend in his new home to keep developing his appropriate play skills and to keep him entertained and happy.

Rocco has already had his leukemia test, and initial deworming and vaccine, but will need to come back to continue his kitten vaccines and to be neutered in the future.

If you are up for a 24-7, non-stop crazy boy, and would like to schedule a time to meet him, please call us at 515-382-2400!

UPDATE: He has already been adopted!

ORANGE FLOOF AVAILABLE: This guy, who we've named Arnold, was brought in as a stray, and he is ready to go to a home! He is super sweet, social, and loves to explore, as any orange cat does. His tail is as big as a feather duster, and is very soft and expressive.

If you are interested in meeting Arnold, please call us at 515-382-2400 to set up a time to see him.
