It was an overly packed horse fun filled weekend!

Got to spend Saturday with the 40 Something Cowgirls, riding Belle famous cowgirl roundup! Like always it was a well run event with fun great riding cowgirls 💕

Then Sunday was another early morning off to Arrowheart Ranch where Charlotte got to ride Houdini in his first show every and even collected a few ribbons. I was blessed with riding a young horse around that did her best at her first time to town! Received a sportsmanship award a really cool hat! Arrowheart Ranch Horse shows are always so much fun and I don’t know how but they have made the show flow even more smoothly since the last time I was there ❤️

Then home for Charlotte to throw her bonfire goodbye party for her friends 💕😭

It’s been a minute since I have gotten to ride with friends on cows. Most of my current horses are baby green and not ready to compete…

But I have good friends that loaned me a horse so Charlotte could ride Beamer.

We even finished 4th place and earned a check!

Bro (Brooklyn’s Finest) 2024 RRP bound,
Has less than 10 rides on him but tonight was the night to learn about cows…

He took to it like a fish to water…
didn’t even bat an eye at them. In fact he even got bold enough to pin his ears and try to bite 💕 he’s going to be fun to bring along. I feel like I am behind as I just started him this month but I think he has the brain to catch on quickly ❤️

It was a beautiful day for working horses 💕
Whiskey (Welsh Stud c**t) even got his first saddling today. Which was not eventful (the way I like it) other than he decided he needed to roll since I rinsed him off before we worked. I went to grab his bridle and when I came back he had rolled and just stared at me with the saddle hanging off his side like this is inconvenient 🤣

Got a nice trail ride in with my friend Marcy and even took out the welsh stud c**t for a pony ride and to see the world. His only hang up was figuring out water crossings, bridges no problem but water was scary…🤣

Yes, I know I have horses at home but I always try to find a local place to ride at when on vaca.

Brian is a good sport and even offered to ride with me but he was not sad when they only had one horse available, since I dropped in last minute to the stable 🤣

Can’t beat the view 💕
We even saw whales jumping and blowing way out in the water while riding on the beach.

Ride number two on this guy, Brooklyn’s Finest a.k.a. Bro, 2020 gelding, who just so happens to be born on my birthday January 24…

Again new trail, but he handled it like an old pro, led the pack, the whole time, and even crossed bridges and roads and handled traffic. We might not have steering or breaks, but he’s got a good mind on him 🤣

So I walk a fine line between brave and crazy… I decided it would be a great day for a trail ride since it is above freezing at 35 degrees. (That’s not the crazy part)

I have a couple young ones that need to be started, so I decided why not today 🤣

So the 3yr Off the track Thoroughbred got a western saddle thrown on him for the second time…(last Thursday was the first time, with a bit of a rodeo discussion about the back cinch) and we went for a trail ride. This was the first time I have ever stepped up on him…

He raced one time ever in his life and then was retired, so not exactly a lot of time with someone on his back….

Good news, no one died 🤣 actually I was so impressed with this guy, he was super brave with the environment, led the way most of the time, figured out how to step over poles and logs, we even trotted along the trail. Everything was so relaxed and on a loose rein that I almost thought I was riding one of my broke horses 😜

This guys future is bright! RRP 2024 here we come!

- a short drive to 18 miles of Riding trails along Lake Lavon

For the spouse not so interested in the horses…
- boat ramp within a few miles of the house
- 40 x 60 shop

- 50 amp plugs for welding
- set up to finish out shop with shower
and toilet
- RV set up, electric and septic

Home has lots of light with beautiful windows, tall ceilings,
3 bedroom, 2.5 bath (bonus room in garage)
Completely remodeled and updated this month,

RRP The 2023 Thoroughbred Makeover
Update

Yesterday was a bit of a wild busy day, we got checked into our stalls, bedded fed & water for the horses. Then checked in with the show secretary, and got in line for our vet check, the vets are fantastic and got to our stall, super fast, both boys we’re healthy so then we went for lameness exam, and pass that, so then I was able to school them both in the outdoor ring.

They were very fresh, and did not enjoy being separated from each other, which had me a little concerned on how the week might go.…

Got a good nights sleep and started early this morning, it was chilly chilly here in Lexington, Kentucky. Lots of layers on to keep this TX girl warm. I was able to school Slam in the indoor arena, which is where he will compete tomorrow afternoon. It took him a bit, but eventually he settled in and was very well behaved, and I had a fantastic ride on him.

Then dad and I walked through the trail course this morning at 10 AM and my fantastic help (Jessica & Charlotte) had my horse saddled and ready to
ride him in the indoor, so Beamer got to see the big indoor arena. He is feeling a little bit too good, but I was able to finally get him to relax and stretch down.

Now I’m out hand grazing him while my crew brings me some lunch 💕

This afternoon we will practice a few obstacles and get one more ride in on each horse.

Beamer shows in the hunters tomorrow at 9 o’clock

I would not be able to do this, without an amazing group of friends, support for my husband, my dad, and many many others. I am so blessed. 💕

Made it on the road a little later than intended today but we made it safe and sound to our first layover 💕 another day of travels tomorrow and we will be in Lexington KY!
Love my crew and everyone that has helped get us this far 💕
