With New Years right around the corner, here are some pet safety tips for New Year's Eve to keep your pet safe!

1. Keep Pets Indoors
Fireworks and loud noises can cause stress and anxiety for pets. Keep your pets inside, in a quiet, safe space to prevent them from running away or injuring themselves in fear.

2. Secure Your Home
Ensure doors, windows, and gates are securely closed. Pets may try to escape if they get scared by fireworks or loud celebrations.

3. Provide a Safe Space
Create a quiet, comfortable area with familiar items like their bed or toys, where they can retreat if they feel anxious. Some pets benefit from using calming products like anxiety wraps or pheromone diffusers.

4. Keep Alcohol and Party Food Away
Alcohol, chocolate, grapes, and other common party foods can be toxic to pets. Make sure food and drinks are kept out of reach.

5. Monitor the Noisemakers
If you're using party poppers, horns, or fireworks, keep them away from your pet. The sudden sounds and bright lights can startle them and cause stress.

6. Update Your Pet’s ID Tags
Make sure your pet's collar has an up-to-date ID tag with your contact information in case they do get scared and run off.

7. Exercise Before the Party
Take your dog for a walk or play with your pet earlier in the day to help burn off extra energy and reduce anxiety during the evening's celebrations.

8. Give Them a Calm Environment
Play soothing music or leave the TV on low volume to help mask the noise from fireworks or celebrations outside.

9. Stay Calm Yourself
Pets can pick up on your emotions, so try to remain calm and relaxed. If you're stressed or excited, it can make them anxious too.
