I am so excited to watch these Halloween Hissers grow!

We have been experimenting with more bio active enclosure offerings suitable for inverts, since I have moved all of my adult mantis breeders over to bioactive enclosures with great success! We strive to provide visually striking yet still beginner-to-intermediate hobbyist friendly pets, and I have been on the hunt for an invert that would be suitable in a more fossorial enclosure, was tolerant to the light, warmth, and humidity of a fully planted bioactive enclosure, was visually impressive, and able to be carefully handled.

We decided that Halloween Hissers fit all of those requirements, and I was fortunate enough to get a breeding colony, which is now producing my first brood! I can't wait to share our cute creepy crawlies and the gorgeous enclosures we will be housing these little guys in with you all in the spring!

Stay tuned for updates on our newest expansion!

We missed you all so much in October, but can't wait to see you again on Sunday!

Catch us at the Indiana Reptile Breeders Expo at the old S&S Marine Building at 1407 Emery Crossing Road, Clarksville IN. THIS SUNDAY!

So excited to announce we will be holding the November 17th Expo at the old S&S Marine Building at 1407 Emery Crossing Road, Clarksville IN.

It's not as simple parking as the old venue, but I have faith our customers can figure it out! Please view the map below - customers follow the blue lines to 3 different parking areas and the footprints to the entrance!

After a month of stress and chaos we can breathe sweet relief to have a temporary landing place!

I just had a 5th ooth hatch this morrning, and I am swimming in Ghost Mantis (Phyllocrania paradoxa)! I have well over 100 between L1 and L3 after I pull my hold-backs for my breeding program.

Let me know if you or anyone you know is interested!

They typically do well cohabbed until sub-adult L5 to L6 in my experience, if provided ample space in an enclosure and well-fed! I keep about 5 per enclosure after L3, but keep groups of 10 when L1 and L2.

Females reach adulthood after males so unexpected breeding is usually not an issue. My females usually live a over a year, and my males are usually a little under a year if they don't get chomped after being paired. I have a 50/50 outcome on the males surviving pairings so it's a toss up on their expectancy.

PM me directly for more details!

Now that I have had a chance to wake up and process things, I wanted to reach out to our amazing friends and followers. While we are so devastated that we won't be able to see you all today, we will still be at Kentucky Reptile Expo next weekend, and would love to see you all there! While we won't be able to bring our 🐌🐌, we will still have the rest of our inventory of mantids, plants, isopods, and springtails. We cannot truly express how much each and everyone of you mean to our small family business, which is at its core a passion project for us Blackmans, and can't wait to see you all again soon!
