One of the most debated benefits to massage therapy is increased circulation. While massage does not actually increase the amount of blood circulating in the body it does improve circulation.

✅massage loosens fascia and muscle tension that may be constricting blood flow

✅trigger point therapy flushes the tissue of blood, lymph, and other fluids and then replenishes it when the pressure is released

✅improved circulation of blood and lymph = more oxygen and nutrients to the muscle fibers and improved removal of waste products = better performance from your horse

Massage therapy isn’t just for injury recovery but is also a preventative therapy. There are many benefits from massage including: relaxes muscles, reduces pain, and increases range of motion.

🟣Relaxes Muscles- massage decreases muscle tension and prevents cramps and spasms.

🟣Reduces Pain- massage induces the parasympathetic nervous system causing the brain to release endorphins (natural painkillers).

🟣Increases Range of Motion- massage and stretching reduce muscle and fascia tension giving muscles and joints more fluidity of motion.
