🌟🐾 It’s time to announce the winner of the Golden Bark-elor at Lighthouse Animal Shelter! 🎉🎊

Drumroll please… MR. COLE! 🥇🎉 As you can see, he truly enjoyed his flowers and will be going on a special day out with one of his besties, Sarah! Plus, he’ll have a cash prize of $50 to spend on all the fish Nyla bones of his dreams! 🐠💰

In a classy finish, our second-place pup, Monty, gracefully accepted his single rose 🌹, while third-place Sawyer seemed a little annoyed he didn’t take the top spot! 😅

The excitement didn’t stop there! Over the past two weeks, we’ve seen two of our amazing dogs, Wren and Amigo, find their forever homes (yay! 🎉), and two more, Maisie and Monty, have been welcomed into foster care! 🏡❤️

With only Cole and Sawyer remaining, we’re thrilled to announce that Sawyer will also enjoy a day out with his bestie, Renee, and receive a cash prize of $25 to indulge in pup cups! 🍦🐶

🌹🌹Tonight on the Golden Bark-elor

We can’t believe we’re making this announcement *again*, but another contestant has officially dropped out of the race—Miss Wren! (Are these dogs taking notes from the current season of The Bachelor?! 🤯)

But in all seriousness, this is incredible Wren has been with us for 399 days, and the shelter environment was never easy for her. It’s only thanks to two amazing volunteers, Jess and Richard, who put in the time, patience, and love to help Wren become the dog she is today. We cannot thank them enough! Paws crossed that her home trial turns into her forever home! 🐾❤️

As we wrap up 2024, we want to take a moment to reflect on what’s been an incredible year for our shelter. It’s been a year of challenges, but also one filled with hope, growth, and a lot of tails wagging. Here’s a quick look back at what we’ve accomplished together: - 138 dogs came through our doors this year, each with their own story, and each needing a fresh start. - 119 dogs have found their new homes through adoption or foster care. This wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our amazing community. - Sadly, we had to say goodbye to three special dogs who crossed the Rainbow Bridge. They will always be remembered with love. - We have 18 dogs still available for adoption, each one hoping to find their forever home. They’re waiting for that special person to give them the love and care they deserve. - 2 dogs in the shelter on January 1, 2024—Zoe and Cole—are still here. Their journey continues, but we’re hopeful that their forever homes are just around the corner. -We had 6 adoption events this year, the most we’ve had in years. These events were a great opportunity for us to showcase our dogs, connect with potential adopters, and build even stronger ties with our community. As we step into 2025, we can’t help but feel grateful for all the support we’ve received this year. Whether you adopted, fostered, volunteered, or simply shared our mission, you made a difference. We’re excited for the year ahead and the new opportunities to continue helping our dogs find their forever families. Thank you for being a part of this journey with us. Here’s to another year of new beginnings, love, and second chances for the dogs in our care.
