As we wrap up 2024, we want to take a moment to reflect on what’s been an incredible year for our shelter. It’s been a year of challenges, but also one filled with hope, growth, and a lot of tails wagging. Here’s a quick look back at what we’ve accomplished together:
- 138 dogs came through our doors this year, each with their own story, and each needing a fresh start.
- 119 dogs have found their new homes through adoption or foster care. This wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our amazing community.
- Sadly, we had to say goodbye to three special dogs who crossed the Rainbow Bridge. They will always be remembered with love.
- We have 18 dogs still available for adoption, each one hoping to find their forever home. They’re waiting for that special person to give them the love and care they deserve.
- 2 dogs in the shelter on January 1, 2024—Zoe and Cole—are still here. Their journey continues, but we’re hopeful that their forever homes are just around the corner.
-We had 6 adoption events this year, the most we’ve had in years. These events were a great opportunity for us to showcase our dogs, connect with potential adopters, and build even stronger ties with our community.
As we step into 2025, we can’t help but feel grateful for all the support we’ve received this year. Whether you adopted, fostered, volunteered, or simply shared our mission, you made a difference. We’re excited for the year ahead and the new opportunities to continue helping our dogs find their forever families.
Thank you for being a part of this journey with us. Here’s to another year of new beginnings, love, and second chances for the dogs in our care.

💪Sawyer would like everyone know that he is working hard on his summer bod!
Our volunteers say Sawyer has been working hard to shed the pounds, maybe its from all the stuffies he 'steals' on his way out to the play yard.
This boy LOVES stuffed toys and treats, although neither one of them last long when he gets a hold of them!
🐾Sawyer is a large Labrador retriever mix that loves people and warms up very quickly. Our volunteers say he seeks cuddles when in the play yard and does the doggy lean into them whenever he can.
We suspect that Sawyer hasn’t spent much time exploring new places. He likely spent the majority of his life sheltered in a home and his own backyard. Sawyer would like a forever family that will show him new places and work on loose leash walking! When in new places, Sawyer needs guidance from a kind, confident person to show him the way and help him process the new environment full of new smells, sounds and sights!
This gentleman is crate and house-trained.
Sawyer is a 7yr old 94lb male lab mix (He definitely weighs less now but we dont have a dog scale - or a human willing to pick him up on our human scale 🤣)
🐶The family who had Sawyer stated that he is docile with other dogs despite his size.
😺He has lived in a home with cats but has done two home trials here with cats and has chased. We are recommending no cats.
