Jesse's test ride
This is one of our CVTโs and her Chesapeake Bay Retriever. Jesse has degenerative myelopathy, which is an incurable progressive disease of the canine spinal cord. Itโs been strongly associated with the gene mutation in SOD1 that has been found in 43 different types of breeds and typically presents itself in dogs 7 or older. First signs to look for are progressive weakness and lack of coordination of the rear limbs which can progress to complete paralysis.
Jesse was not able to go outside or go up and down stairs without assistance. Rachel wanted Jesseโs quality of life to improve and bought a wheel chair. As you will see in these videos Jesse is testing her new wheel chair out. You can see her excitement in her face while she is running down our hallway.
Good luck Jesse our team at NBAH are all routing for you.
