We have 80 Officers registered seeking Sponsorship and very eager to attend!

Throw Away Dogs Project is reaching out to our community and supporters to help make a lasting impact for our dedicated K9 officers and their handlers. These hardworking teams play a critical role in keeping our communities safe, and ongoing training is vital to their success.

This year marks our 4th opportunity to send our K9 teams to the K9 Law & Order Seminar, a premier event held at Frontier Town in Berlin, Maryland. This seminar provides advanced training, invaluable networking opportunities, and access to the latest tools and techniques in law enforcement K9 work. Attending will not only enhance their skills but also strengthen their ability to serve and protect.

To make this possible, we are seeking sponsors to help cover the costs of registration, training, and meals for these remarkable teams. Your support will directly contribute to the growth, safety, and effectiveness of our K9 units.

Press Release - Craven County Drug Arrest

On Sunday, January 5, 2024, the Craven County Sheriff’s Office K9 Bureau conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling eastbound on US Hwy 70. The driver, Alan William Bogli, 67, of New Bern, NC, was identified during the stop.

K-9 Tia was utilized during the stop and alerted to the odor of narcotics during the deployment. A search of the vehicle by deputies led to the seizure of approximately 57.4 grams of methamphetamine and various items of drug paraphernalia.

Alan William Bogli was arrested and charged with:

• Two counts of Trafficking Methamphetamine
• Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell, and Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Bogli was held at the Craven County Detention Center with a $100,000 secured bond and is scheduled for his first court appearance on January 6, 2025, at 9:00 AM in Courtroom #4 at the Craven County Courthouse.
