Prudy's Story
For anyone unfamiliar with Prudy's sad story. In Sept 2021, Prudence (known as Gabby in the shelter) was found abandoned in the back of a Uhaul trailer. She was skin & bones emaciated. No one knows how long she was in there or what her life was like beforehand. The sheriff's office tried to find who had left her, to no avail. Unfortunately, since she couldn't be formally surrendered to the county, she had to sit in the shelter until a judge determined it had been long enough & she could be deemed a ward of the county & officially placed for adoption. Lucky me was browsing the shelter's available dogs just days after she was posted & fell madly in love. I called the shelter to find out why she'd been there so long & went to meet her later that day. My daughter & I loved her immediately! They informed us she is heartworm positive, so I called my vet to price & set up treatment. I couldn't bring her home for a few days as they had to spay & microchip her first. She also had to have 2 masses removed from her armpit. She is now experiencing a million new, exciting things & living the good life. We visited the vet today to get a plan to treat those nasty heartworms so she can live a long happy life with us. I'm so honored to be the final chapter in her story of resilience & show her what it's like to be a spoiled baby.
