Dogs were a constant for me growing up. I was always around them. My pets are my family, so much so that I named our business after my best buddy and favorite dog, a Great Dane named Dozer. I understand how difficult it is to trust someone to take care of your pet. Anyone can pick up a set of clippers and try to give a dog a haircut. But being a groomer, just like any other trade requires talent and skill, patience, training, money, continuing education, and a lot of time.
My first animal related job, was as a dog trainer when I was eighteen. Eventually a few years after doing that, I became a groomer’s assistant. For a year and a half, I learned how to properly bathe, dry, brush/comb, clean ears, trim/file nails, and handle animals. Then, I was sent to school to learn how to be a groomer. I’ve been grooming dogs for six years. In that time, I’ve worked in a salon, mobile, and veterinary setting. I’ve groomed big dogs, small dogs, cats, difficult dogs, anxious dogs, excitable dogs, sedated dogs in a veterinary setting, and even bathed a pig or two. While working as a groomer in a salon, I also completed my Bachelor’s degree in History and Psychology at Texas State University. Please feel free to ask any questions about my experience and skill as a pet groomer.
As I am a dog groomer, I am also an avid animal lover. My husband jokes that if we had a big enough farm, I would take in all the unwanted animals. We are raising our young daughter to love all animals as well. One of her first words was dog. She is frequently seen cuddling up to our dogs or constantly wanting to be around livestock. Our small business is built on quality work and our genuine love and care of animals. Thank you for taking the time to consider us to take care of your furbabies and help our business grow.
