Every mount gets a blow dry, it’s the best way to groom them! And who doesn’t love a good slow-mo shot? Tanning can leave unwanted oils in the hair so we make sure to wash, dry and groom each animal to perfection before it leaves the shop.

Thinning the eye skin on a sable antlelope. This is the membrane inside the eye cavity which is then tucked between clay and the glass eye on a mount. Getting it thin enough to see through ensures it won’t shrink much and that the eyelid on the mount doesn’t appear too thick. Would you trust yourself with a scalpel, cutting wet leather on top of your own finger? We don’t want you to try. Leave it to the experts.
