It is that time of year! It’s time for the staff here at Clear Springs Veterinary to take some personal time to spend with family. We hope that all of you have the opportunity to do the same throughout the upcoming holiday season.

We will be closing Wednesday, November 27th at 1 pm and reopening on Tuesday, December 17th for our annual staff and family vacation period.

We will be open December 17th - December 21st for normal business days / hours. Please keep in mind our normal weekend days for the clinic are Sunday and Monday.

For Christmas, we will be closed December 24th - December 25th and for New Years we will be closed December 31st - January 1st. We will reopen January 2nd and resume our normal Tuesday - Saturday schedule refreshed and ready to assist with your pet's needs.

Should your pets need any veterinary care while we are away we've listed several locations below that may be able to provide the assistance needed. We obviously hope that you don't need them, but best to be prepared.

🚨 Important Update: Leptospirosis Now a Core Vaccine for ALL Dogs
The 2022 AAHA Canine Vaccination Guidelines have been updated to classify the leptospirosis vaccine as CORE for all dogs starting at 12 weeks of age – regardless of lifestyle, location, or breed.
Why the change?
🌆 ALL dogs are at risk—urban, suburban, and rural.
⚠️ Potentially fatal, even with treatment.
🔄 Zoonotic—it can spread from pets to humans.
🏢 Dogs in daycare and kennels also face exposure risks.

Given the year's swift pace, we are providing advance notice of our upcoming office closures. The office will be closed from October 8th through 12th. We will close at 2 pm on November 27th and then remain closed until December 16th for our annual staff vacation. Holiday closures will include December 24, 25, 31, and January 1. Should your pet need any assistance during these times we have listed some options below. Please keep these days in mind as they approach and insure you have plenty of your pets long term medications as well as anything they may need for fireworks during the new year. Also, make sure to call to ensure you get your appointments for your pets vaccines if you will need boarding during the holidays.

Good morning! The office will be closed next Tuesday - Thursday (27-29). We will be open for normal business hours through this Saturday the 24th and have our normal weekend days Sunday and Monday. We will reopen for normal business hours starting Friday the 30th.

Our office operates completely off of internet / phone coverage provided by spectrum. If you tried emailing / calling this afternoon we are sorry for the inconvenience as we are unable to respond at this time. We will get back to everybody as soon as service is restored and we are in the office. In the meantime email is best so we can contact you when we get back up and going!

There appears to be a large Spectrum outage that is affecting a large portion, if not all, of Texas, Spectrum wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
No word, as to what has caused the large outage.

This is why we always make sure to ask about your pets heartworm prevention. It’s important to order your pets prevention under the correct pet if ordering online so we have accurate information. If you’re not good at remembering your give monthly tablets don’t forget we have the Proheart injection and send reminders when it’s due!

Important information please read!
The clinic has recently tested a new schedule. Since January we have treated one Friday a month like our Saturday, closing at 2 PM and remain closed for that Saturday. This allows one Saturday a month for our staff to enjoy with their family so that the remaining Saturdays, we are able to happily and conveniently provide services for your pets!

In addition, we want to give everybody plenty of time to prepare for the 4th of July and fireworks. This year, the Fourth of July falls on a Thursday. The clinic will be open for normal business hours Tuesday, July 2 and will close at 2 PM Wednesday, July 3. The clinic will be closed Thursday, July 4 through Monday, July 8 and will reopen for normal business hours Tuesday, July 9. If you plan on going on vacation and your pet needs vaccines to board over the holiday, please plan accordingly. Our wellness appointments are currently booking out to mid June. In addition, if your pets will need any prescription refills during the time of our closure please make sure to take care of this before we close in July. We know this may seem far away, but we wanted to make sure to give everybody plenty a heads up as it will be here before we know it. We think it is important to keep our staff educated and knowledgeable on the current events and medicine within the industry. In order to do this we have to take time to attend continued education conferences so we are able to provide the best care for your loved ones. The office will be closed 2/18 - 2/21 and we will reopen 2/22 for normal business hours. We will be open Friday 2/23 until 1:30 pm and closed Saturday 2/24. We will have our normal Sunday and Monday weekend and return to our normal hours of operation February 27th. We will be checking our email as we are available to during this time but if needed have listed clinics below that may be able to help your pet if in need.
