Kittens🥰
Pet and Wildlife Sanctuaries was contacted about a pregnant stray three weeks ago. Layla came to our Sanctuary that evening and saw a vet the very next day. We were informed that she was almost due, and just three days later, she gave birth to a litter of six kittens. Mom and kittens are healthy and doing well here at PAWS Delaware. These little ones are 2.5 weeks old and getting bigger and more curious each day. Next up, deworming!
Franklin (Formerly Fruit Cup), being released into his new enclosure this morning.
Franklin was a tnvr case who unfortunately tested positive for FIV. Although he has no desire to be confined inside, it would be irresponsible and detrimental to the local cat community to let an infected cat roam freely. Many shelters will euthanize infected cats due to their propensity to be consistently looked.over in the shelters and need to be housed alone or with cats that are also infected.
Pet and Wildlife Sanctuaries was contacted by a local rescue partner who asked if we had space for Fruit Cup. We were fortunately able to raise the funds for a patio enclosure, and this will be his catio.
Franklin was picked up yesterday and brought back to PAWS Delaware. Due to the severe storm that hit last night, we opted to keep him inside, much to his dismay. He spent the night in quarantine to ensure nothing could be transferred to our other animals.
This morning, Franklin was successfully transferred to his catio and he is currently exploring the space and enjoying his views of the woods the surround the sanctuary.
Franklin would like to request any gently used cat items 🥎🏐 that anyone would like to donate for his catio - keep in mind these items will be exposed to weather (even though the catio will be covered).
We have also added a few items to our PAWS Delaware wishlist on Amazon, including multiple styles of outdoor housing, a feeding station, and an weather resistant climbing tower. We also will gladly accept any other items you may feel would be better suited or that Franklin would enjoy!❤️
Please be sure to include your name and info on the gift receipt so that we may send you a donation receipt as well. https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/22G24Z0QQKKER?ref=cm_sw_sm_r_un_un_77CXpzOnGXwsh
🎉Welcome Franklin🐱 (Formerly "Fruit Cup"). He was a feral cat who was trapped for TNVR by members of the community and ended up at BVSPCA. Unfortunately he tested positive for FIV and was no longer eligible for release. He was also kept in isolation to help ensure he did not spread the virus to any other cats. BVSPCA asked Pet and Wildlife Sanctuaries if we had a place for Fruit Cup at our PAWS Delaware Sanctuary.
We immediately began raising funds for two outdoor enclosures, one of which would provide ample space for Fruit Cup, but still keep him safely contained, and the other for our indoor (negative) cats to safely explore outside from time to time.
Thanks to a generous supporter and several other donors, we were at least able to purchase one of these enclosures. It is currently being assembled and Fruit Cup, now Franklin, is anxiously awaiting his new home.
⛔️We have added a few items to our wishlist, including some outdoor/weatherproof items. Franklin would really appreciate anything to help decorate his new home and make it a little more cozy.☺️ https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/22G24Z0QQKKER?ref=cm_sw_sm_r_un_un_77CXpzOnGXwsh
👇Enjoy the video of Franklin being picked up from BVSPCA. It almost sounds like he is saying, "Hellllllllloooo0000oooo" 😂🤣
This litter of pups and their mom were saved from a high kill shelter and now are safe here PAWS Delaware.
PAWS Delaware Sanctuary Residents
Kade, rescued in January 2019, celebrated his 7th Birthday on 4/20 with a few treats!
Just some of the many Sanctuary residents here PAWS Delaware

🙈Nothing to see here🙈
Just some of the resident dogs🐶 LOVING LIFE 😜
Everyone is playing and enjoying the first snow❄️ of 2024😁
Kade (Rescued 1/6/2019)❤️ and Max (Rescued 8/5/2020)❤️
Both Kade 🐶and Max🐶 are permanent residents here at PAWS Delaware. Kade came to us in 2019 from a local rescue partner here in DE, and after a rough first year and a half of his life. He has been thriving since his arrival and now that he is six, he tends to assume a paternal role with most of the other rescues. Max similarly came to us when he was just two years old, but was full of energy! Fast forward three years later, and he has not slowed down at all. Max is considered our part exercise coordinator, part drill instructor - since he is always in the mood for running laps or playing seemingly endless games of fetch, but has no issue barking orders if you don't initially want to comply. 😅😂
Here they both are exploring and enjoying the property on a beautiful day☀️. Unfortunately, thanks to the sweetgum trees🌳 that grow around the dog park, even with our daily cleaning and landscaping efforts, Kade has the occasional struggle with stepping on gumballs, or monkey-balls as some know them, and getting them lodged in between the pads on his paws. Luckily, he has learned a simple trick for getting them out on his own, instead of waiting for assistance👏👏. #smartboy #goodboy #monkeyball #nottodaysatan See less
