A Free Learn to Fish Program will offered June 22nd in Marienville in Allegheny National Forest.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Forest Service is offering a free, family-friendly program about the basics of fishing in Allegheny National Forest. The program will be held on Saturday, June 22 from 9-11:00AM at Beaver Meadows near Marienville. The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission has issued an educational exemption for this program, therefore no fishing license is required to participate.
“All ages are welcome to join this introductory program which will go over basic fishing techniques, tackle and bait options, fish species you’re likely to catch, and then spend most of the time fishing,” said Ranger Sarah Needs.
Limited fishing equipment is available for use by program participants, including fishing rods, hooks, and bait. To sign up, contact Sarah Needs by June 21 at 814-927-5776 or [email protected].

Fish-for-Free Days allow anyone to legally fish on Pennsylvania waterways with no fishing license required. All other fishing regulations still apply.
