Still looking for homes for these 3 little ones. They're 16 weeks old. Have had their first shots, been wormed and are super healthy. The boys (Basil and Fennel) have appointments to be neutered on August 22nd. The girl (Chive) is still a bit too small to get spayed. All are super friendly and have been well socialized with people and get along well with my older cats. More info on their individual personalities will be with their pictures. They're all free to a good home. Message me if you have any questions or are interested in adding one (or more) of them to your family!

Some updates on the rescue kitties. Sage and Dill all went off to their forever homes. Mama Rosemary went to live at Breaking Free Therapeutic Riding Center as a barn kitty after she was fixed. We're so thankful they were able to take her in. Basil, Fennel and Chive are still looking for their forever homes. All have had their first shots, been wormed and tested negative for FELV/FIV.

Life has been busy and I haven't updated much but Rosemary's babies are now a month old!

Are you looking for a laid back, relaxed kitty? Rosie might be the furry friend you've been looking for!

A little info on Rosie. She's FELV/FIV negative, spayed and up to date on vaccinations. She's around 2 years old and very sweet. She does great with other cats and has been fine around my large dog.

Update on Mittens! Her adopter, Brittany Basehart, sent some pictures of her settling in. Mittens will be living in Brittany's barn after she gets adjusted to her new home. She's much happier in an outdoor setting than she was inside. Not all kitties are satisfied and can become super stressed when they've been used to living out doors, so we're super thankful that Brittany had a place in her barn and in her heart for Mittens.

On a personal note but still cat related. We had to take our buddy Jack to PetPlex for an emergency last night. We noticed him making several trips to the litter box with little to no urine coming and that's an indicator of UTI or crystals in their urine. In male cats especially this can be dangerous because their more narrow urethra can become blocked. We caught it very early this time and as there were no crystals or infection found he's been diagnosed with Feline Idiopathic Cystitis, which is an exclusionary diagnosis. The cause is unknown but it's believed to be an unnatural stress response. He's on new food to help keep him more calm and other meds to help relax him but he seems to be doing much better today! Please keep our little guy in your prayers.

Updates: Mittens got spayed, tested and vaccinated today at Bliss Veterinary Services in Newcomerstown. She is FELV/FIV negative and a happy, healthy girl about a year old. She's very affectionate and gentle. Here's a pic of her from last night and one from today with her cone of shame.

If you find a litter of kittens in a secluded and sheltered area, such as under a bush or deck, keep a watchful eye out for the mother cat. Mother cats still need to eat, so they tend to leave their young to go hunt for prey to nourish themselves and provide milk for their kittens.

Their internal clock guides them back to their litter when it is time to nurse the kittens, which is normally every 2-3 hours. If the mother cat does not return after 5 or more hours, it may be time to intervene and help the kittens.

Mother cats that do not return are usually injured or possibly killed, but some can abandon their litters. Whatever the reason may be, if the kittens are left alone for too long they may not survive.
