This is my daughters dog (my grandson lol)
He has been a bit of a challenge with training in the beginning, but we are finally understanding his little quirks and finding ways that work with him in training.
Down has been a struggle but last week I got him to do it in his kennel and found what he responds to.
The longer video is of me trying to find how he's learn. (Notice I don't keep repeating the cue, that is huge in training)
The videos in the comments are my daughter just tapping her feet and him responds to it being the down cue.
Physical cues don't always have to be from the hand, the feet can be them as well, understanding your breed and body language is huge when working with dogs.

Has your dog seemed interested to play with another dog (or a dog friend they know) but a fight broke out right away or shortly after.
We need to focus on what they are trying to tell us before we let them play.
Body language.
Energy level.
Emotional state.
And how did they greet.
Here is a video of how my boy gets so overwhelmed, when he hears the driveway alarm, or if a new friend comes in to play.
His excitement turns in anxiety, if I let him out in this state he would likely go and start to nip the dog in the face (or body slam and knock over my guests that come in my house) this how fights can start because my boy greeted them rudely.
It is important to have your dog calm and relaxed before they greet or meet any dog or people.
Now you see my boys muscles are just going crazy. (My mini poodle is not helping anyone here, we are working with him as well 😉)
Some would see his tail as he is good, but there is so much here in his body language that is saying not yet.
My Fur babies were massively protesting, when I was upstairs getting the kids ready for school. Lol

Are you able to call you dog off or stop them when they are doing something they should not be doing? Or do they just give you the look, sometimes the side eye? LOL.
If your dog is not listening to your simple commands, there is a lack leadership, your dog either looks to you as a plaything, or does not see you as a leader.
I am going to use this video as an example, letting dogs play is fine, rough play for too long will start a fight, it does not matter how close your dogs are, or how much they love each other, or your dog is the sweetest dog ever, rough play for too long will start a fight.
So can you call your dog off in mid play, or from far away?
Over the weekend the puppy pack was back lol.
But they are not puppies anymore, oo how time just flies.

Another busy weekend to show, when they get what they need, they are quiet. Unless I walk through. Lol
So the reason I opened my kennel in 2010, I worked at 2 bigger facilities when I was younger, I did not like what I saw (not that those places did anything wrong) big kennels are more stressful, more dogs and non stop barking.
Dogs staying in stress for to long can bring on so many physical and mental issues.
I work with all the dogs here to understand we don't bark all day long, when need be ok but not all day, so when their needs are met they are calm and quiet.
This is what I thrive for. And I love every minute of it.

So I am offering something a little different.
Daycare we all love the idea of our Pals making new doggie friends, and yes it can help with Socializing if done the right way, it can help with getting your Pal energy out, and not staying pent up all day while you are gone.
But there are con's to big play groups and all day play with no breaks, with all different sizes, temperament, energy levels, when we force our Pals to play all day without a break,
This can cause so many issues for your Pal,
stress, Anxiety, overstimulation, Aggression, it can also keep them locked into prey drives, defence drive, predatory instinct, you don't want your Pal stuck in these energy/Emotions as it can make them sick.
•We offer smaller groups.
•Equal rest time after play time.
•Same size and temperament play group. (Depending on the dog)
•Individual play time
•We offer training while in play groups (this helps keep stress, anxiety, reactivity, overstimulating at a low)
•This helps reduce or stop dog fights happening.
And so much more.
So my question to you is.
Could you stay running all day long and not get a break?
When you are tired and have a hyper active person in your face how would you react if you can't get away?
