Mount Kearsarge Pony Club Flashbacks

Mount Kearsarge Pony Club Flashbacks Pony Club is a youth organization that teaches riding & Horse Management skills to kids up to the ag

USPC is unique because its educational programs place equal emphasis on the teaching of riding skills, horse-care fundamentals, and team participation with sportsmanship. From the moment youth join USPC until they graduate, they are part of a broad network of activities and educational programs that promote the health and safety of both horse and rider. USPC is dedicated to developing knowledgeabl

e, competent, responsible, and caring horsemen. The USPC Standards of Proficiency provide a core curriculum for individualized instruction. Clubs and centers use the Standards as a plan for instruction programs. The Standards describe a clear progression of skills in riding and Horse Management and provide opportunities for goal setting, as members are encouraged to proceed though those skills at a pace that is comfortable for them. One of the things that separates Pony Club from other youth equestrian organizations is the emphasis that is placed on Horse Management. While members learn how to ride, they also learn how to care for their pony or horse. A concern for safety is an important part of the foundation of USPC. Ours was the first equine organization to require its members to wear safety helmets. Our guiding beliefs regarding safety reach into every aspect of the organization.

Here at NEEMSC, we value the lifelong passion and commitment to our equine partners.

Dr Abby Geick and Elaina Enzien, owner of Gelinas Farm, have grown up together and turned their childhood passion for horses into professional endeavors. Here’s to continuing to strengthen the equestrian community in New England!

MKPC alumni-on July 13th i will be joining the Milne Family on "Team J" for The Prouty walk up at Dartmouth. We are walking in memory of Jessie Milne Freeman who was a MKPC graduate. Sadly, Jessie passed away 2 years ago from cancer. Jessie represented WMR in Show Jumping at USPC Champs. Team J has chosen to do the 5k option for the walk. Please consider joining our team (in true Pony Club fashion) to find a cure and give cancer the kick! To join or donate- please go to www.theprouty.org and go to find team. We are Team J.

Please join me in showing one of our Pony Club family some love and support!
