Mount Kearsarge Pony Club Flashbacks Pony Club is a youth organization that teaches riding & Horse Management skills to kids up to the ag

USPC is unique because its educational programs place equal emphasis on the teaching of riding skills, horse-care fundamentals, and team participation with sportsmanship. From the moment youth join USPC until they graduate, they are part of a broad network of activities and educational programs that promote the health and safety of both horse and rider. USPC is dedicated to developing knowledgeable, competent, responsible, and caring horsemen. The USPC Standards of Proficiency provide a core curriculum for individualized instruction. Clubs and centers use the Standards as a plan for instruction programs. The Standards describe a clear progression of skills in riding and Horse Management and provide opportunities for goal setting, as members are encouraged to proceed though those skills at a pace that is comfortable for them. One of the things that separates Pony Club from other youth equestrian organizations is the emphasis that is placed on Horse Management. While members learn how to ride, they also learn how to care for their pony or horse. A concern for safety is an important part of the foundation of USPC. Ours was the first equine organization to require its members to wear safety helmets. Our guiding beliefs regarding safety reach into every aspect of the organization.

Hi all
This July 11th Dartmouth Hitchcock is again holding its Prouty walk to raise money for Cancer. I will again be joining Jessie Milne's family in the walk to remember Jessie. Jessie passed away 4 years ago from Cancer-leaving behind a husband and young son. Please consider joining Team J in this walk and walk along side Dale and Jeff Milne. Come on graduate Pony Clubbers- its a Team event-thats what we do best!!

There will be Trick or Treating for Candy thur the farm & woods, a Pirate Ship, Tattoos, Crafts, Games, a Spooky Barn, Farm Animals, Selfie-Stations and lots of fun! Very family friendly- spooky fun not scary (No touching, weapons, blood or gore). Homemade desserts and treats available for sale

Hi Past & Present Pony Clubbers
On Saturday July 12th the Dartmouth Prouty walk will be happening. Dale and Jeff Milne have formed "Team J" to honor our former Pony Clubber Jessie Milne Freeman. Jessie was a member of Mt. Kearsarge Pony Club and represented White Mtn. Region in Show Jumping at USPC Championships. She passed away from cancer a few years ago and her parents have formed a Team to walk in the Prouty 5k wooded walk. Last Ben and I joined the Milnes to honor and remember Jessie. The walk is a nice walk thru a mostly shaded trail. We would love to involve more Pony Clubbers that knew Jessie to join us and invite members along to support fellow Pony Club parents as they honor their child's memory. The Prouty is northern New England's largest family-friendly fundraising event combining cycling, walking, and more to raise funds and awareness for life-saving research and critical patient and family support services at Dartmouth Cancer Center.
