To my beautiful son Zachary. One year older in my heart and with me every day. You continue to bless your Dad and me with surprises from those who love you and were left behind.

Winter time off. Looking forward to Spring and warmer weather. Warm enough with an indoor this day to begin tuning up this frisky Premarin rescue. Love what I do!

Many thanks to Kim Chayer for her confidence in my training methods. It is a pleasure working with this boy. Under saddle less than one week!

Hannovarian who I started with ground work in November. After taking the cold winter months off, I picked him back up late spring. Refreshng all ground work and going into in hand bridle work and putting human weight on his back here is . Bremen ‘s debut and a part of his fourth ride. My thanks to Garrett who sat on him for the first time sparing me a few broncs.

Using feel too lower a horses head. Feel is not a pull. It is a dynamic consistent feel moving with the horse until the desired direction is attempted by the horse. At that moment the feel is released, telling your horse he was correct.
In these pictures, I take a feel by closing my hand under the rope halter. When Gunner lowers his head even the smallest bit, I open my hand. If he raises his head I only take the closed hand feel. It is important to not try to make anything happen. You will set yourself up for a soar arm or hand. Learn to let it happen. As he lowers, I open my hand allowing and following his dropping head. Stay calm in your breath and intention. They feel everything.
