We are settled in with 14 head of horses ready for the Clayton Classic reining horse show starting tomorrow at Lakeside Arena.

The barn was full this morning as we prepared for Kentucky Reining Horse Association Clayton Classic later in the week. We can’t wait to see what are team does after the success last month at Indiana Reining Horse Association Summer Fun show. Last month, Laura Plue Brown and Lotta Mobster rocked the Rookie class with a sweep in Rookie 1, 2, and Prime time and made it into the Shoot Out. Karen Bailey and Darlings Cody Boy had great rides in the Rookie Classes and won the Rookies Shoot Out. The pair earn a beautiful belt buckle. Jonna Thomas and SS Gone Platinum had good rides in Novice Horse and Nonpro. Macy and Dunnit Hydrive were second in Green. Sara Filiatreau and Topsailes Littleprize had several nice rides over the weekend and were second in Intermediate Non Pro. We can’t wait for our whole team to be together this week!

Best 👏 Barn 👏 Family 👏 Ever 👏 Our team had a great weekend at the Kentucky Reining Horse Association Justin Ricke Memorial.

Congratulations to all of our riders who had great rides this weekend.

Sara Filiatreau won the Non-pro and Intermediate non-pro on Dunit with Voodoo. She also won the youth on Topsails Littleprize.

Karen Bailey won the Rookie Primetime on Paleface Tradition. Karen was also 2nd on Darlins Cody Boy.

Laura Plue Brown was 3rd in the Rookie on Lotta Mobster.

Elizabeth Paris Chunglo,Jenny Chapman-Tolbert, and Lisa Alley-Lee were back in action this year. These ladies had great rides in the Rookie classes.

Michele L Ford won the Green class on Double Shot of Jac.

Jonna Thomas and SS Gone Platinum had a great ride in the Novice Horse.

Ken Krebs had everyone watching him show Darlins Cody Boy!

Our youth riders, Devan Kittle and Macy had solid rides this weekend too. We can’t wait to watch them grow as the year goes on.

Cutter and Paleface Tradition won the Novice Horse.

Colonels Special Gun and Cutter also won the Open, Intermediate Open, and Limited Open. Congratulations to owner Karen Bailey!!

Today was a big day for Sara Filiatreau and we were so happy to be there with her. Congratulations Sara on your official signing day. Sara will join the SMU Equestrian team in the fall and we know she will do big things there!!

We lost a good one and a great friend of ours. Mal and Maggie could always be found watching and cheering from the side. He knew when to push you to be your best and when you just needed the nod of a job well done. The original cowboy will be greatly missed. He left us long before his time and before we were ready to say goodbye, but his love, dedication, and spirit will live on in each of us. To our cowboy, may your ride all the best horses, with your training donkeys by your side!! We will greatly miss you, but your stories and memories will long live on. It was an honor to call you a friend and we cherish all the memories we’ve made along the way.

We had a great weekend at Kentucky Reining Horse Association Bourbon Slide! Congratulations to our riders and horses for a very successful weekend of showing. Karen Bailey won the NRHA/KRHA Green 1 and 2 on her horse Paleface Tradition. She was also 3rd on Me and Julio. Emily Chunglo had an amazing ride on Smart In A Dress! We are so proud of that pair and how far they have come! Michelle Ford and Double Shot of Jac had a few solid runs. They are working so hard and really putting it together. Ryan Moloney and Darlins Cody Boy were on it this weekend! They took home a big win in the Rookie 1 & 2 on Saturday and 2nd on Fridays classes. Linda Poor and Custom Chex to Cash had one of their best rides. She was rocking show pen! Lisa Lee and Dun Gotta Dream and Sam Brown on Nu Lil Gatlin Gun always make us proud!! Sara Filiatreau won the Non Pro and Intermediate Non Pro on Dunit with Voodoo. She was also 2nd with Vintage Sportster in the youth. Congrats to our good friend Mike Weber for winning the Level 2 Non Pro Futurity! We are so proud of our team and their hard work!!

We had a wonderful and successful weekend at Kentucky Reining Horse Association Clayton Classic this weekend. We are so proud of our team and all that they accomplished!

Emma Filiatreau had an amazing run on Dunit With Voodoo to win the Level 2 & 4 Non Pro Derby, Youth Derby, Intermediate Non Pro, and Non Pro classes. She had the highest score of the weekend!! She also had a great run and brought home money on Special for the Nite. We are so proud of Emma! We will miss her when she goes to college next month, but we know she will do great!!!

Michele L Ford and Double Shot of Jac had several solid rides and had a 2nd and 3rd in the Green. This pair is rocking the show pen lately!!!

Elizabeth Paris Chunglo and Emily Chunglo with Smart in a Dress continue to make great progress! They had beautiful rides this weekend and we can’t wait to see what they achieve! Emily was also on the winning Youth Challenge Team.

Sara Filiatreau had a great weekend showing her horse Topsails Littleprize. This pair is always fun to watch show. Lisa Ricky Lee and Doctor Goodfeel continue to make huge improvements. Their 2 year old stud, ERF Imhr Huckleberry, handled his first show experience like an expert. We know he will be a star soon!Jenny Chapman-Tolbert and Alex Brown with Trashed on Jac had beautiful runs. This was Alex’s first time showing Chevy and she did great!! Sam Brown and Nu Lil Gatlin Gun had a great ride and were 2nd in Novice Horse.

We have the most amazing barn family and we couldn’t be more excited and proud of them!

Cutter specializes in reining horses and prides himself on the ability to adapt to each horse and rider to help them achieve their very best.

Our summer has been packed with fun, talented horses, and great riders! Lisa Ricky Lee we sure do love your 2 year old stud ERF Imhr Huckleberry “Ace” (Smart Spook x Hangten Cowgirl). Lisa had an AMAZING first ride on this guy and we can’t wait to watch him develop even more!!

We’ve been so busy lately we’ve forgotten to share our success! Congratulations to all of our wonderful riders for their recent achievements. Awesome job at INRHA last weekend to all of our riders who competed. We’re so proud of you Emma Filiatreau who took home a win in the Intermediate Non Pro and Non Pro and Jenny Tolbert for competing in her first ever run off and for being invited to their weekend Rookie shootout for having one of the highest combine weekend scores. Congratulations to Lisa Ricky Lee and Cutter who walked away with a 1st in the open class. We sure do love your sweet Doc! Also, congratulations to Sara Filiatreau who rocked last weekend and the TNRHA show a few weeks back!!! We are so proud of all of our horses and riders❤️

We’ve had a wonderful time Indiana Reining Horse Association Spring Fling! We are so proud of our team for the many successes they’ve had this weekend! Congratulations to Anita Daggett for winning the Level 2 Non Pro Derby! She was also Reserve Champion in the Level 4 Non Pro Derby! We had a great time at Congress! Super proud of our team and their many accomplishments. Congrats to Sarah Beth who was Reserve Champion in Intermediate and Limited Non-Pro, 5th in Non-Pro, and 11th NRHA youth. Emma also had a great Congress placing 4th in Intermediate Non-Pro, 7th in Non-Pro, 5th in NRHA Youth 14-18, and 11th in youth 14-18. Our dear friend, Jennifer Flanagan had a very successful Congress winning her class! Congrats to Lakin for your successful runs too!

That’s a wrap on a busy week at The Buckeye! Mother Nature was not kind to us with rain, sleet, and finally the sun today, but we had fun none the less! Our riders rode hard and persevered. Big congrats to JG for being the Youth 13 and Under High Point Champion, Lisa for becoming a Run for A Million Qualifier, and Sara Beth and Laura for being Top 5 in their classes!!
