Say hello to Peyton who turned 2 recently and is from our Spring 2022 group, sibling of Sukha and Columbo we recently posted about. Peyton's looks are a mix from both parents - I see Papa Luca's colors and wavy coat. And I see Mama Lucy in your face and long ears.
Peyton's family adores their Lady Donkey, as they lovingly call her and said this about her recently:

Happy Go Home Day to Max!! Mylo is Max's big brother born last fall in November. Max and Mylo are local to the area so we met them at a park to allow them to sniff and meet each other at their leisure. It was so cute to see their first interaction. We just know this beautiful young family is going to have so many fun adventures with these two boys. And now they have one that looks like Mama Lucy and one that looks like Papa Luca. We have been very busy here at Lu Doodles. Everyone is now officially reserved. Starting tomorrow we have pups going home on Friday, Sunday and then next Wednesday. Then the last two girls will make their way to Colorado, more details to come later.

Our last two Sweet Little Lu Doodles have officially been reserved and will be traveling to Colorado later this month! We are so excited for these girls who'll be living on a property with land, so they're going to be having an adventure everyday living their lives on a ranch. Our Sweet Little Lu Doodles were 6 Weeks Old in these pictures. They are officially 7 weeks old today.
They are accustomed to our potty training outside routine, heading outside first thing in the morning and back inside to nap after pottying, playing and eating, and we repeat this cycle all day. Every puppy is played with and we expose them to different objects, sounds, activities, etc. They enjoy playing outside and we've been having such great summer weather in Northeast Indiana.
At bedtime they go back into the nest for the night. We are quite pleased with what we find in the potty training tray in the morning (not poopy everywhere) and they all anxiously await to go outside to do their business when we wake up early with them.
They are also fully weaned from their Mama Lucy and they also sleep on their own in the nest. They've become little independent puppies ready to fly from their nest on their own life adventures. We have their veterinarian visit scheduled for this Thursday the 3rd where they'll each receive a full vet exam, first set of puppy vaccinations, dewormer and microchipped.

Our Sweet Little Lu Doodles are 39 Days Old in these pictures. They weigh between 7 - 11 pounds now 😳 it is amazing how fast they've grown since birth.
Our littlest girls are Pink Girl and Honey. Our biggest chunky monkey is Yellow Boy. Gray Girl is as big as her brothers Max, Purple, & Orange boys. And Green Boy is our littlest boy, a pound less than Gray Girl but bigger than both Honey and Pink Girl.
We have a nice variety of sizes and colors to choose from and have a good understanding kf their little budding characters. Let us be your guide in finding that perfect baby for you.

Our Sweet Little Lu Doodles are 38 Days Old in these pictures. They have been doing amazing with Potty Training.
Their day typically begins at 7am when each puppy is shuttled outside. Typically puppies (and big dogs) will potty upon waking. We take advantage of this and use it as an opportunity to Potty Train. Once outside, the first thing they do is Potty. Then we bring Mama Lucy to them to nurse while their Puppy Mush is prepared. Some of them don't have all their baby puppy teeth yet so we have to be mindful of that and soften their kibble. However, they do sleep the entire night in their Nest without their Mama Lucy.
Once they are fed, they typically will Play, Run Around in the Grass, and eventually Number Two will occur, around 15-20 minutes after eating.
Once they are worn out and had enough play time outside, we shuttle them to the indoor kennel to nap. When they wake up they are shuttled back out to potty and the cycle of Sleep, Potty, Eat, Play, Sleep repeats all day til around sunset or 8-9pm-ish. Then back to the Nest for the night but first they are weighed and their daily mugshots taken.
That's a typical day for them and I have to say they are accustomed to their routine and are becoming little experts with regards to going Potty out. It's a lot of work on our part, but our families will appreciate the headstart on Potty Training. The key to successful Potty Training is a consistent routine and observing your puppy to understand their cycles of when they're going to need to do their business.

Our Sweet Little Lu Doodles are 36 Days Old in these pictures. Our Purple Boy is now Reserved 🥰 and we are so happy and excited for him and his future BFF and human Momma ❤️
We have been potty training around the clock, going outside every opportunity we can to help give these babies a head start on that. They are also sleeping without their Mama Lucy now and are eating lots more solid foods. They still 'comfort' nurse around the clock and Mama Lucy doesn't deny them but she certainly limits their nursing time to brief visits with them throughout the day.
The pups have been doing fantastic going outside in so many different scenarios including hearing trains, being in the rain, seeing the night/darkness, hearing and seeing geese fly by, playing with the big dogs, playing out individually, in pairs and the entire group, getting sprayed down with the garden hose, smelling fire pit smoke, and just running around playing in the grass. It's been so fun to do all these activities including potty training.
We have also booked our veterinarian visit for early August and they can go on their own life adventures on or after August 8th. The time to apply is now.

Our Sweet Little Lu Doodles are 7 Weeks Old in this video. We are so thrilled that Yellow Boy and Green Boy have been Reserved. Pink and Gray Girls are still looking and they're as Sweet as can be too! We have been having so much fun during playtime with them. You can watch them playing with this Giant soft bouncy ball in this clip. They've also been working on potty and individual crate training. These are ongoing and in progress so when they go home, you should be able to pick up right where we left off for a smooth transition. They're still young and they might need a potty break once in the middle of the night, but these guys really understand the concept of doing their business outside. And if they're crated will alert you when they need to go out. Go Home Day is coming quickly and they'll be leaving in stages as not everyone can come on a Tuesday. Our Sweet Little Lu Doodles are 6 Weeks Old. We have lots of updates. First, we would like to congratulate our Orange Boy who's forever people found. He's now going to be known as Zurg, his Golden Retriever sibling is Rex. Rex and Zurg were characters in Toy Story 🥰 Zurg will be heading to New Jersey on Go Home Day. Second, we decided to discontinue the daily mugshots because we have been heavily focused on potty training. At 6-7am when the pups wake up, we bring them outside one by one. Then they potty, eat, play, and potty again. By then they're ready to come back inside, this time to a crate, for their nap. Then the cycle repeats all day until bedtime. They only go to their nest to Sleep, unless we have a bad weather day that prevents us from going outside. Yesterday our neighbors mowed their lawn and we took the opportunity to desensitize them to this noise that will most certainly be present in their future lives. At first they nervously hurriedly scurried to me. After a few passes they became immune to the loud mowing sounds. Win! These types of activities are practical to their everyday lives and we do our best to expose them to as many new situations, surroundings, textures, etc, as possible. This helps your puppy acclimate quickly into your lives with little effort. We are accepting applications for our 4 remaining pups: Pink Girl is our tiniest pup, is Spunky and full of love and life. Yellow Boy is our biggest Chunky boy and is the happiest go lucky pup we've ever had. Gray Girl is one Smart Cookie and a Snuggler. Green Boy is Easy Going and Playful. He also loves to Snuggle. We spend individual time with every single puppy to make sure they all feel loved and cared for. We help bring the best of their little characters out and do lots of confidence building activities. Our Red Boy and his siblings are 13 weeks old today. He will be going home soon. In the meantime, he gets to hang out with the big dogs and play some soccer. He's also been crate, potty, and leash trained. And he knows how to ride in the car. Watch him play with his parents and Uncle Lucky (the white lab mix).
