I thought it was fitting to announce today, Labor Day, that I am fully retiring from dog breeding. My last litter is on the ground now, and they are all spoken for. Also, all adult dogs have been re-homed. I am thankful to my daughter-in-law Nicole, who has helped me with all the computer work, and organizing puppy buyers. It has been a great run, spanning 25 years. I am very grateful that God has blessed me with much good fortune, and I am really grateful to all of you who became "parents" to my pups. I hope they continue to bring you many years of happiness.
In closing, I am very thankful for your support over the years. Doing something as simple as breeding animals has been an honor and a privilege. R***r, and 2 male pups will continue to live here with me and become house pets. Something I haven't had in a really long time.
For those of you looking for pups, go to the AKC website (AKC.org) and check out breeders. Thanks.

While going through some of Karen's paperwork, I found this from 2009. I thought it is worth reprinting.
A pets Ten Commandments...
1. My life is likely to last 10-15 years. Any separation from you is likely to be painful.
2. Give me time to understand what you want of me.
3. Place your trust in me. It is crucial for my well being.
4. Don't be angry with me for long and don't lock me up as a punishment. You have your work, your friends, your entertainment, but I have only you.
5. Talk to me. Even if I don't understand your words, I do understand your voice when speaking to me.
6. Be aware that however you treat me, I will never forget it.
7. Before you hit me, before you strike me, remember that I could hurt you, and yet, I choose not to bite you.
8. Before you scold me for being lazy or uncooperative, ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I'm not getting the right food, I have been in the sun too long, or my heart might be getting old or weak.
9. Please take care of me when I grow old. You too, will grow old.
10. On the ultimate difficult journey, go with me please. Never say you can't bear to watch. Don't make me face this alone. Everything is easier for me if you are there, because I love you so much.

FDA Warns of Possible Link Between Grain-Free Dog Foods and Heart Disease

We have received numerous postings/articles on "Grain-Free" dog foods....Please read....thanks for your time & concern

According to an FDA alert, dogs developing dilated cardiomyopathy that are not typically prone to the disease have 1 thing in common—they’ve been fed diets containing legumes, lentils, and potatoes as the main ingredients.

We are receiving a lot of notices in regards to "grain-free" dog food...from veterinary sites, universities, even AKC -- that grain-free is not necessarily good....tests & history are now showing links to health issues such as heart disease.
