🌸 We are so excited to announce that we will be a sponsor of New Haven's Cherry Blossom Festival coming up on Sunday, April 14th! We'll be set up at Wooster Square Park from 12:00pm-4:30pm. We'll have lots of goodies to give away and Achilles (pictured above) will be hanging out to receive pets from any nice people passing by!🌸

🌸 The Wooster Park Yoshino Japanese Cherry Blossom Trees were planted in 1973 and have been celebrated with this fun, family-friendly, pet-friendly festival every spring since! We are very honored to be back at the festival this year, we love New Haven! 🌸

A local student and member of our VWCNH community is looking for healthy dogs currently not on any medications to donate blood for a thesis study called “Quantifying Pain: A Ratio of Cortisol, Substance P, and PACAP as Biomarkers for Pain”

This study, overseen by the University of New Haven Forensic Science Department, investigates the possibility of measuring canine pain levels. The goal of this study is to use this information in the future to better prosecute cases of animal cruelty and neglect.
Now that’s cool!

We here at the Veterinary Wellness Center of New Haven share the sentiments echoed by so many of our colleagues around the nation regarding the senseless and horrific act of violence in Kentucky recently.

Unfortunately, every veterinary clinic has stories of their own with close encounters, threats, and violence. Our staffmembers work day after day to care for the loved pets of others. They sacrifice much in order to do this, but safety should never come into play. We are all a bit more thankful for each other today. Sending love from New Haven to Kentucky, our thoughts are with everyone affected.

Meet Nino! He’s an Airedale Terrier- the biggest of the Terriers, they can reach weights between 40-65 pounds. Because of this, they are called the “King of the Terriers”! This is very fitting for Nino, as he is very well behaved and aristocratic for us every time we see him! 🐶

Bernese Mountain Dogs hail from the Swiss Alps, more specifically, from the area known as Bern in Switzerland. They make fantastic lap dogs if you don’t mind 70-150 pounds of fluff on top of you- they certainly don’t mind! Welcome, Finn 😊🐶
