Our Paw Patrol crew had their 1st vet visit today. We swung by the pharmacy for some socialization with our staff afterwards and spent some time playing outdoors when we got home.
Took these kids outside for the first time. They had a blast!
We are absolutely loving this amazingly calm litter. They will be ready to go home June 14th.

Our Piper is getting up there in age but she still loves the snow!
Our stud Dutton lives right next door, so he came over to play in the snow with our mini girls, Georgia and Piper.

Great news!!! Millie had her appointment with the surgeon this week. Everything is going well so far. Her incision is healing nicely and her swallowing seems to be doing better. We still aren’t sure what the final outcome will look like for her as far as eating. She will continue eating mush standing upright for about the next month. From there we start to not soak her food quite as much and gradually get her to normal kibble (maybe). She may always need it a little wet. Then we try to bring her down to a standing position to raised bowls. This will be a couple of months process.
Now for the GREAT news! I thought Millie was going to be staying with me for the near future. BUT my amazing neighbors have completely fallen head over heels in love with Millie. She is going to live right next door to me with 2 fur sisters and her very own human sister! They are all prepared to take on whatever care she may need. The stars have aligned for Millie and she will be living her BEST life!

Millie is doing great! Here she is in one of her little surgical suits. She currently has to eat standing up like this to help with her swallowing. Can’t wait to hear what the vet that did her surgery thinks next week.
“What happened to Millie?”
I’ve been receiving a lot of messages inquiring on what happened to Millie. To explain it simply, she was born with blood vessels coming down the wrong side of her esophagus. This caused a band to form around the top of her esophagus. She was growing but the band was not and it was causing her food to back up when swallowed. It is a rare condition so it took me a few days to find a surgeon that was willing to work on her. I owe a huge “thank you” to Dr Frederick from Blue Pearl in Christiana, DE. The entire staff was amazing. Millie is on the mend and getting lots of love and attention. She has a follow up appointment a few days after Christmas at which we will find out how successful the surgery was. So far, so good though!
Every breeder will eventually get a puppy that needs medical intervention of some kind. This is our special puppy here. Millie had major surgery this week to save her life. It was a jaw dropping cost to get her back on her feet but she is worth every penny. The staff at the hospital said they have never met such a laid back puppy! I am looking forward to seeing her live a long happy life and can’t wait to find her perfect family that gets to experience it with her. She will be spending the next couple of months with me while she recovers and grows all the fur back on her side that had to be shaved off. I will post updates on her recovery, stay tuned!

The mysterious upper respiratory disease seen in dogs is spreading across the country. It is believed to be spread by close contact and breathing in the same air. Be weary of places that your dog will come in contact with other dogs. Call your vet immediately if you observe any of the following:
Difficulty or rapid breathing
wheezing
dehydration
fever
nasal or eye discharge
weight loss
loss of appetite
lethargy

Update: Acorn went home to live with her family in Connecticut! She is loving life with her new human siblings!
This little lady is perfect for kids! She LOVES to chase and be chased. She is so fun loving and playful. But when she comes inside she is ready to curl up with you. Acorn will be 20-25 lbs as an adult and have a nice caramel fleece coat. Just like the rest of the litter, she has those mesmerizing eyes. Message me for details!

This is it… Georgia’s retirement litter!!! Georgia has been an all time favorite of our puppy families. Georgia and Dutton will be honeymooning at the end of this week and puppies will be ready to go home the beginning of November. I included some pictures of Georgia’s past puppies. Kitty is 13 weeks old and picking up commands very quickly. She is crate trained, sleeps through the night, and doing well walking on a leash. This sweet girl will be 40-45 lbs. as an adult. Whoever her future family may be, is very lucky as Kitty is perfection in a fluffy parti coat!
When it’s time to clean the puppy pen, these two keep them busy for me!
