Flipper the Fussy Kitty here asking y'all to please share for us?! These two are full of energy and interrupting my beauty rest, dangit!
I need my beauty rest! 😼
Say hello to Maverick and Susie Q!
Let me begin this with saying you might find this post different from the "please adopt" post you usually see and for good reasons. I often see new adoptions posted up as "Lost" sometimes as soon as a couple weeks after their adoption. I also don't want them to go to someone that might toss them outside for behavioral issues if it ever arises.
I'm not a rescue and haven't accepted donation for any of this. No one has helped me socialize these babies. So, if you find this post blunt, it is. I will have higher stipulations for their adoption than shelters and rescues which will not only be an adoption fee & vet reference but there is a mandatory quiz in cat behavior to complete (will be posted in the comments shortly) and mandatory home check.
These two are the perfect addition to your family if you've been searching for awhile and just couldn't find "the one" yet. Well, Susie Q & Maverick might just be "the ones" for you!
It's best they are adopted together as they are very bonded. These babies were rescued with their Mom from a life on the streets and living in a trash bin. They haven't been the easiest to socialize and will need patient adopters that not only say they understand but ACTUALLY understand that if they take a week or two (even a month) to come out from under your bed doesn't mean you give up on them.
It means you place food and water for them and a litter box next to the the bed so they don't feel It means you spend time in the room with them while talking on the phone or to them so they get used to your voice. It means you have empathy and earn their trust.
Once they trust you, they are so full of love and have adorable personalities! Maverick is more apprehensive and will sit back while watching his sister to check things out first. I don't know if that's a "ladies first" move or "hey, go check it out" move to test the area/object for possible traps. But Susie is quick to have her interests perked once her curiosity trumps her fear.
They are both incredibly cute and love to snuggle. Might be a good idea to have cat trees and toys as these two will run around the house for hours at times. More things they have of theirs the less likely they will knock your things off side tables and climb your curtains!
