Here at ColdSprings we are hobby farmers, with a small group of Labradors in our breeding program.

ColdSprings has been a work in progress for the past 10years, and I am very proud of how it has come along. I have a small breeding program consisting of eight Labradors. All of which our house dogs and members of our family first and foremost. I have picked each of these guys because I feel they excel in some area that defines them as amazing examples of the breed. Everyone here has obedience tit

les, and their health clearances completed at the appropriate age. We have about two litters a year, with the main goal being that the pups in the end go on to do amazing things. My main goal is producing dogs that are sound- mind and body, a good majority of the go on to become working dogs- be it hunting or service work, as well as many are very loved family members. The pups are raised in a stimulating environment with children, other animals and lots of exposure to environmental ingredients the end goal being that you have a more trainable dog.

November is Epilepsy Awareness month... 🥰

Today this little man, my son Sebastian, had a moving experience we brought pups to visit a assisted living facility and both my kids visited and laughed with the residents. But Sebastian got into a deep conversation with a very nice wheelchair bound woman who also has a diagnosis of epilepsy. They talked about affects of meds, life being nervous and then they shared stories of their dogs that seizure alert. She has had two in her life both keeping her safe by alerting and he shared stories of night scares before his dog Sprocket and how he has been more of a in his words "free spirit" for the last three years with her. She shared stories of the falls ending in stitches from seizures, and now they stopped once she had a dog trained for her. He had an a..ha..moment and was like hey same here..This visit was to cheer up some lonely people but I left in tears thinking how amazing it is that he feels confident to share and she had so many of his same stories/feelings that when we got home he said "so I am not weird after all.."...no buddy blessed but definitely not weird. Thankful for the dog world always but more an more I am thankful for what this life I lead passionately is teaching my kids.

Sprocket the best girl...not a breeding dog but the most important girl in our house♥️

We hosted Hero Dogs Elsie for the delivery and raising of her sweet 7 for the last couple months.
This morning Elsie and pups headed off to their places.... 3 veterans program pups, two for Hero dogs and two headed to Kansas for guide dog work. 🥰... our hearts are full ♥️.

Sad to share what feels like the end of an era....
TUG.. the Tugger... the man. One of my way back original pups (dixie and dapper) after a long wonderful 14years his family said goodbye.

My funniest memories of him are...
I would occasionally pick him up to bring him for a date with my ladies. But the minute I would walk in his house he would be air hu***ng 🤣🤣... dude I totally know why mom is here... I will forever chuckle at those greetings.

Probably one of the most well known dogs I have ever bred, the mayor of his region 🥰.

Rest easy big guy you set the bar so very high 🥰.

And to is parents.... there are not many dogs that have been as treasured... thank you.

Kiss your Tug babies and hold them tight.

Spring in November calls for recess 🥰

Recall with the boys.... One of the things a lot of people struggle with when raising their dog is recall... coming no matter what. You don't actually have a recall if you can not rely on it in all circumstances. That takes time and payment (reward). One error I see a lot is that people do not actually teach recall like they would take the time to teach sit. Take the time to teach them you are the greatest reward always. I promise it ends with a lifelong skill more valuable than all the other things we teach them. Linc and Rollo
