ColdSprings Labradors Here at ColdSprings we are hobby farmers, with a small group of Labradors in our breeding program.

ColdSprings has been a work in progress for the past 10years, and I am very proud of how it has come along. I have a small breeding program consisting of eight Labradors. All of which our house dogs and members of our family first and foremost. I have picked each of these guys because I feel they excel in some area that defines them as amazing examples of the breed. Everyone here has obedience tit

les, and their health clearances completed at the appropriate age. We have about two litters a year, with the main goal being that the pups in the end go on to do amazing things. My main goal is producing dogs that are sound- mind and body, a good majority of the go on to become working dogs- be it hunting or service work, as well as many are very loved family members. The pups are raised in a stimulating environment with children, other animals and lots of exposure to environmental ingredients the end goal being that you have a more trainable dog.

We all love stories ❤️ right??

So before you say oh another dog... remember lots of training dogs come and go around here....alot all the time. But I rarely add a perspective breeding dog... and when I do they grow old here... very very rarely does one of my own ever leave. Also remember that I have had a intensely heartbreaking year...not one, not two but four dogs in 8months. (Atlas, Cheyenne, Sawyer, Canyon)

Let me introduce you to Shiloh....
An amazing breeder and woman I adore had her litter. She is a daughter of my Canyons brother.
When Canyon had an accident I was devastated... I lost my sidekick but I also had none of his bloodline because I never kept from him or had him frozen. She may be a niece and unplanned on my part... but she's a piece of bloodlines I love and she had to come home.

I always name my crew after places
Shiloh is a National monument but it also means "peace in the midst of pain"....
Couldn't be more fitting 🥰

Day of the Labrador 🥰...

Well every day is lab day around here. Between a busy training program and the residents it's always Labrador day.

Here's some pictures of the lifers... at this point many generations from when I started and (most) born into my hands. I am fortunate to have the most incredible pack of dogs. Each bringing something different to my life 🥰

Spring in November calls for recess 🥰

Recall with the boys.... One of the things a lot of people struggle with when raising their dog is recall... coming no matter what. You don't actually have a recall if you can not rely on it in all circumstances. That takes time and payment (reward). One error I see a lot is that people do not actually teach recall like they would take the time to teach sit. Take the time to teach them you are the greatest reward always. I promise it ends with a lifelong skill more valuable than all the other things we teach them. Linc and Rollo
