⭐️Christmas Miracle’s Day 25❤️

Our ROOF!!! Our jobs are physically and especially emotionally draining doing what we do, but what’s most draining is people who don’t understand the amount of stress each individual at Frankie’s Friends is under daily! We are not robots and try to help as many as we can and when people call yelling or upset or make comments on our posts that are not nice it emotionally kills us. We take on the worst of the worst … that means that we do not always have happy endings and those times simply will never be easy to handle. There’s no way to sugar coat that. So that being said we could not be more thankful for our supporters because without kindness we would literally loose our minds. We simply wouldn’t be here without that..kindness truly does matter. We almost didn’t submit an entry to try to win the new roof. Fortunately you all had the faith in us that we didn’t and convinced us to enter. Your votes and love recharged our human batteries ❤️
The biggest thank you to Schultheis Bros for offering this to the community! We are over the moon 🌙 still! This was truly the biggest relief and the pick me up that all of us here at Frankie’s so desperately needed 🥰
Merry Christmas everyone!!

❤️Christmas Miracle’s Day 24💚

Pillow! Pillow has been on our FB before so most of you probably remember her! Back in early November this little black kitten was hit by a car and ended up in a storm drain. What transpired was nothing short of a miracle! It was NO easy feat getting Pillow out of this drain. SO many people stepped up to help including Matt, Ross and Tom from TD&J Plumbing! Dr. B also came down to meet Pillow and get her admitted and started on her road to recovery. This was truly an amazing rescue and heartwarming teamwork! Thank you to all who had a hand in helping Pillow and also for all those that have donated towards her care! Pillow recently had to have her leg amputated and she still has a long road ahead of her. Keep watching our fb for more updates on this little warrior! 🖤🫶🐈‍⬛

💫Christmas Miracle’s Day 23✨

🖤Carlos! Our OG!! Carlos was our longtime resident cat. He has been with us for about 9 years and was actually originally at our old first building on 9th St! Many moons 🌑 🌒🌙🌕ago Carlos was on somebody’s porch and was said to be attacking their legs and feet. That person wanted him euthanized due this/him biting people. So we stepped in and said we would take him…we never had an issue with him at all. He’s been an absolute gem 💎, a true gentleman, if you will. Carlos has been on our social media through the years, so many of you have come to love and know this handsome panther! Carlos was also a former employees( Katie ❤️) favorite kitty here and we are happy to report that Katie’s best friend adopted Carlos this month! Carlos is living and loving life!! He sleeps with his new dad every night and trys to get in the shower with him too! 😂
It feels a bit strange without him here but we could not be happier for his happily ever after 🖤. It was truly meant to be 🥰

❤️Christmas Miracle’s Day 22🎀

Pepper!! This sweet girl was just one of many cats taken in from a humane/hoarding situation. She was the oldest of the crew( we estimate her to be about 13) and very shy. Her mouth was also so very painful and was in badly need of a dental. Pepper ended up needing to have a full mouth extraction. Don’t worry though, Pepper can very much still eat dry cat food! She feels SO much better after all of the infected teeth were removed and also really got more outgoing and brave each passing day. Once she was all healed up we sent Pepper off to find her forever home at The Black Cat Market. Even though she’s the sweetest, cutest, toothless soul we worried that she would still be waiting for a bit due to her older age. While she didn’t go immediately so to speak all things considered, she wasn’t waiting 2 terribly long before an amazing lady fell in love with her! We are beyond excited for Pepper to be living her golden years out in a warm, cozy and loving home! Her new Mom even sent us pictures! Pepper layed low for about a week but the adventuring has now begun and she went and found her mom downstairs🫶
Our hearts are full🖤🥰🤍!

❤️Christmas Miracle’s Day 21💚

Magpie( black kitty 🖤) and Georgia! This miracle technically started towards the latter half of 2023. We received a call from CART( County Animal Response Team) asking if we would be able to take in 8 cats from a bad situation and we agreed. There was a house fire, counties away and it ended up also being a bad hoarding situation. All of these pets were surrendered and in need of rescues to take them in. Lots of cats as well as dogs and reptiles. Thankfully other rescues had already agreed to help so these 8 cats were all that was left that needed help. Other rescues stepping in to help really helped lesson the load so to speak with everyone involved which was amazing of course! All 8 cats were thankfully unharmed by the fire but were still in need of medical care. They were underweight and had GI issues as well. Unfortunately these cats more than likely did not have a lot of human interaction and the majority needed socialization. Bev, our populations manager was their main caregiver and really worked on getting them to trust humans. She truly worked hard getting them friendly and getting them to come out of their shells. It was amazing how much they came around ❤️! 6 of the cats were adopted and we were down to 2. Georgia, a 1 year old tabby was actually outgoing from the get go unlike her siblings and Magpie was STUCK to her like glue. Georgia was truly his emotional support cat! Magpie was 5 and a beautiful black house panther and was still really timid and shy. Once we saw how attached they were and how much they loved each other we knew we had to keep them together. A lot of people don’t necessarily want to adopt 2 cats at once as well as a cat that is very timid such as Magpie was. Georgia gave Magpie the love and courage he deserved and desperately needed so we were bound and determined that they go together. They went to our partners at The Black Cat Market and continued to be besties. They also posted these cuties on their social media explaining just how much Magpie needed Georgia to be brave for him. Well an amazing guy emailed and said he wanted to adopt them together. He had not met them yet but he was adamant. When he did meet them his mind hadn’t changed. Their names are still Magpie and Georgia and they are SO happy in their loving home. Their dad has been amazing and sends us updates(major brownie points🥰) which we love getting and we are happy to report that Magpie is fully out of his shell! He’s a cuddle bug🪲 through and through now!
Georgia and Magpie are still besties with each other as well 🤎🖤

❤️Christmas Miracle’s Day 20🎀

Rowan! Rowan was about 6 months old when she was found in July by a kind couple. They brought her inside and reached out for help. She was sickly frail and had compromised vision. Her vision issues are probably from an untreated upper respiratory infection prior to her rescue…it’s rough out there for a cat. Rowan made it…but she very likely wouldn’t have had she not made it to us for medical care. That’s the sad reality for a TON of cats. It’s heartbreaking and why we advocate for spaying and neutering. Like Koala (Yesterday’s miracle) it took a longgggg time to get this girl healthy. Rowan had intestinal/GI issues that we had to get under control…but we got there!! Her belly issues have resolved, she’s a healthy weight now and she can see! Her vision isn’t perfect but it’s also not so bad! This miracle isn’t quite finished though…Rowan is now at The Black Cat Market where we send all our cats that are ready for their happily ever after. Can you believe that she has not had one single person interested in her? She is seriously the sweetest kitty( and adorable!) and we are really rooting for her to find a home for Christmas! Rowan is like a little glow worm 🖤💡🐛🐈‍⬛🤍and can truly brighten anyone’s day!

❄️Christmas Miracle’s Day 19❄️

Koala 🤍🐨🩶! This sweet soul was brought to us by a kind lady back in July. She works at a warehouse and had been seeing Koala around for weeks and eventually Koala wandered up in desperate need of help. Koala was SO skinny and weak. On top of all of this he had a nasty URI and was also declawed. This amazing human took him home so he would be safe and reached out for help and brought him to us. Again this was in July…it took till December to get this boy heathy…we fought HARD for him and he fought harder 🩶🥰and he is FINALLY ready to live out the rest of his cat lives in his own loving home! Koala is just one example of what your donations allow us to do and we can’t thank you enough!

Edit~ a very important one as well..he WHISPERS when he meows 🥹….its the cutest thing ever!

🎀Christmas Miracle’s Day 18🎀

Rabies…yes…that’s really her name. Sooo months and months ago a kitten was surrendered to us. The people that brought her to us said that she was being dragged through their yard by a raccoon 🦝. They had to chase the raccoon away and scoop her up. Her leg was broken in the midst of this all….it’s literally what the raccoon was dragging her by. We had to operate on her leg and put a pin in it to stabilize it. We then later on had to remove the pin. She also had to be in a Rabies quarantine because of the raccoon possibly carrying Rabies. Medically we all were calling her “Rabies Baby” to indicate that there was possible exposure and to use proper protocols. No name had been written on her paperwork. Eventually it was determined that she did not have Rabies but by this point the name was pretty stuck 🥴
Julia, our head tech, also took this one home 😆! So Rabies is now living her happily ever after with Panda and the rest of her crew ❤️

✨Christmas Miracle’s Day 17🎄

Bob! Bob was a feral cat that was loved by many people in his neighborhood. Multiple neighbors fed him and looked out for him. Bob appeared one day in really bad shape so one of his amazing caregivers reached out to us for help. We agreed and Bob was surrendered to us but we were immediately told that he was welcome back should he pull through this and needed a place to go. Bob was in REALLY bad shape and honestly he wouldn’t have made it without help. Upon examination it was determined that the roof of Bobs mouth was fractured, multiple teeth were also fractured, multiple infected wounds and areas of dead skin and puss. Bob’s neck was SO badly infected that he had to have a large drain put in. He also had to undergo a couple of surgeries with us and when his neck finally healed we then had to remove his large drain. As previously mentioned Bob was feral…we tried and tried to bribe him with the infamous Churu treats but while he loved those he never fully warmed up to us. It’s very hard to find a feral or semi feral cat a home but as luck would have it Dr. Morrow’s aunt has a soft spot for the hard to adopt cats such as medical conditions and feral cats. When Bob was finally medically cleared to leave he went to go live with her! We are so happy that he pulled through and has a safe place to call his home 🧡

❄️Christmas Miracles Day 16⛄️

LaBrea! This past summer a man walked in with a tiny black kitten that had somehow fallen into a bucket of tar. LaBrea was covered head to toe in it. Tar is EXTREMELY toxic to cats and can cause liver damage, anemia, fluid build up in the stomach and even death. We had no idea how long this tiny kitten had been exposed but knew we had to immediately get the tar off him. It took a long time to get all of the tar off of him but when we were finally finished, we had the cutest little bat 🦇 kitten! Despite LaBrea’s tiny body being completely saturated in highly toxic tar…LaBrea was ok!! It was truly miraculous! An amazing friend and board member of Frankie’s fell in love with LaBrea and adopted him! LaBrea is now besties with her dog 🥰

❤️Christmas Miracle Day 15⭐️

Biggie(Aka General BigWig)! You may remember this handsome ginger making our list last year and wonder why he’s here again. Well this one’s bittersweet! This will be Biggies last time on our social media because he’s been ADOPTED!!! Quick recap~Biggie came in last year and he was a hot mess. He was known around his neighborhood and had lived wild and free for years. Biggie eventually was caught and surrendered to us by a kind family that had fed him for years. Biggie was wild at heart 🧡. It took alot of patience before he decided that maybe getting loved on wasn’t so bad after all! We all collectively fell in love with him but had not tried 2 terribly hard to get him adopted because quite frankly he is still a bit of a rebel 🤣😎
He bullies the other cats…and if another cat happens to be fighting there’s a possibility that Biggie will attack the closest leg…displaced aggression essentially. Sooo this significantly lowered the amount of suitable homes. We did not feel comfortable adopting him out to anyone that had children or even humans that would possibly be yelling or anyone with other cats that he could bully. Because of the countless stipulations against him, lol, we just kind of figured he was a Frankie’s lifer. That was until about a week ago when Laura(our tech) happened to be telling her friends about Biggie and her friend who lived alone and had no other cats thought that he sounded PURRFECT! We will all miss Biggie something fierce(well maybe not the other cats here..they probably won’t miss Biggie trying to cause drama 😝) but we are SO very happy that he now has his very own home with undivided attention ❤️🥰

🪽Christmas Miracle’s Day 14🕊️

Sunny☀️! A few months back we received a call about a cat with burnt feet. Sadly this cat had been left behind when its previous owner had moved away. We said we would help and Sunny was dropped off the next day. Upon examination it was determined that Sunny had Pododermatitis(also known as pillow foot) which is a skin disease that causes the pads of the cat’s feet to become swollen. This is extremely painful for them. We feel the fastest most effective way to get them relief is to surgically remove the fleshy painful part. Due to the fact that this was surgery on Sunny’s feet he would absolutely have to be kept inside until it healed. The option to surrender Sunny over to us was declined by a neighbor that was feeding Sunny along with other cats. We explained the importance of Sunny needing to heal inside the house and we were promised that would happen. Sadly however, that’s not what happened. Later that evening we found out that he had immediately been let outside. Sunny at this point did not really have an owner. The person who fed Sunny(and refused to let him heal inside) would feed him but he is not who paid for Sunny to get care. Luckily another neighbor learned that this all had happened…it had actually been her and her sisters idea to get him help in the first place but someone else ended up calling in and made the appt. The sisters were going to get Sunny the medical care that he desperately needed instead of exchanging Christmas gifts with each other! Truly the spirit of Christmas!! So they went and got Sunny back! They then set Sunny up inside and kept him safe(and loved)
These amazing ladies met Rachelle at her house a few days later(they did not live all that close to Frankie’s so this cut a little bit off of their trip). Sunny was/is SO loved by these 2 sisters but both are extremely allergic to cats 😭 so while they could not keep him they still loved him dearly and fought to get him the help that he needed! Sunny is now at Frankie’s and while his feet look great…it has since been determined that Sunny is a diabetic….yet another reason why we are so grateful that he was able to be brought back to us. Sunny is on a newer medication that is a pill vs injections and it is taken once a day whereas injectable’s are typically 2 x a day. Sunny actually will eat his pill so it’s not even difficult to give to him! He is SO very sweet and we are looking for a permanent foster for him! This means we would supply his medication and vet care and you would supply the love! There would be no adoption fee! If you are interested in this love bug please email us at [email protected]
