Hi my name is Bleau and I’m a 4 month old, Blue Heeler, certified good boy!

Dr. Broz and Kendall stopped by for Bleau’s last puppy distemper vaccine! Did you know that the DAPP (Distemper) Vaccination protects against Canine Distemper Virus, Canine Adenovirus types 1 & 2, Canine Parainfluenza Virus, & Canine Parvovirus?! Distemper vaccines are typically started around 8 weeks of age and requires booster shots every 3 weeks for prevention of Canine Distemper Virus.

Dog-tor Finn would like to remind everyone that it’s the first of the month which means heartworm, flea and tick medication is due!

Did you know that Heartworms are transmitted through a mosquito bite? Every year more than 100,000 dogs test positive for Heartworms. While heartworm treatment is available to heartworm positive patients, it is also preventable by giving your pet heartworm prevention once a month! Heartworm medications are prescriptions, meaning an exam and a heartworm test are due annually and a prescription must be approved by a veterinarian🦟

Gunner had his last puppy visit today and got his 2nd leptospirosis vaccine! Leptospirosis is a 2 part, elective, vaccine series that is given to puppies starting at age 12 weeks and boostered 3 weeks after the initial!

Leptospirosis, also know as Lepto, js a bacterial disease that is spread through the urine of infected animals such as opossums, raccoons, skunks, deer and squirrels. Your pet may come in contact after drinking, swimming, or walking through contaminated water.

Leptospirosis is a zoonotic disease which means humans can also get leptospirosis.

Clinical signs include, but are not limited to:
* fever
* vomiting
* abdominal pain
* diarrhea
* refusal to eat
* severe weakness and depression
* stiffness
* severe muscle pain
