This annual three-day event in the Arcade’s Rotunda and Tank event spaces will feature holiday shopping from over 40 small business vendors, food trucks and restaurants, live entertainment curated by , family-friendly activities and performances, cash bars, and holiday surprises.

Our friends at will provide a free shuttle service from the Arcade to and from Sunset at the Market event at 2nd Street Market on Thursday 12/12.

Donations for will be accepted at the main entrance to Holly Days with a full list of suggested items posted on the Arcade’s website.

This event at the Dayton Arcade (35 W. Fourth St.) is free and open to the public.

We’ve been vending the best Ohio local mushroom goods at 2nd Street Market every weekend since early 2021, shortly after the world was opening up from the COVID pandemic. The indoor market was still closed at the time, so we were literally selling mushrooms out of their parking lot.

Much has changed since then. We’ve grown a lot, but we still have a great relationship with the Market and are still vending in the 2nd Street pavilion every Saturday. The pavilion is the sunny windowed area at the Market’s east end next to the Live music.

Find us Saturdays from 9-3pm. We offer fresh gourmet mushrooms, dried mushrooms, lab-tested tinctures, mushroom powders, umami seasonings, mushroom honey, mushroom tea, and chicken feed boosters.

We might start doing our smart mushroom shots at the Market that have been so successful at recent events such as SW Home Grow Expo, Fall Canna-Fest, and Yellow Springs Street Fair.

BREAKING NEWS: The LFPA program that has facilitated the distribution and placement of Guided By Mushrooms mushroom boxes in schools and food banks throughout the state just received $500m in new funding!

LFPA funds were previously scheduled to run out in Summer 2025, so this is welcome news. We distribute hundreds of pounds of fresh mushrooms a week thru LFPA partners DNO Produce and The Foodbank, Inc.

We’re excited for the continued opportunity to get quality, local produce into the mouths of students and needy families. 🎯

The USDA today announced an investment of $1.7 billion for purchase of locally and regionally produced foods and domestically produced foods for emergency food assistance.

LOCAL FOOD SUPPORT
USDA is providing $1.2 billion for local food purchases that food banks, schools, and child care facilities will integrate into their meals for the coming year. This funding builds on previously provided local food support and creates new marketing opportunities for small- and mid-sized producers and food businesses. Past funding has provided much needed assistance to schools and food banks as they grapple with acquiring enough food to meet the needs of their recipients. Continued investment in local purchasing allows producers to expand, invest in infrastructure, and solidify new connections that support resilient regional food systems while providing healthy products to food recipients.

Of the funding, $500 million will be made available for states, territories, and Tribal nations to purchase local foods for emergency food providers and underserved communities, while another $500 million will allow school meal programs to make local food purchases. For the first time, USDA will also provide $200 million in funds specifically for child care facilities, which face similar challenges purchasing food as schools.

Second Street Market in Dayton is still without power from the remnants of Hurricane Helene that blew through, and is closed for Saturday, September 28.

Since we only vend the Market on Saturdays, this means we’re shutting it down until next week. When we return, it will be October! 10/5 to be exact.
