UPDATE:

I’m sorry to say I will no longer be offering free sessions due to two consecutive weeks of no shows.

Unfortunately, I am doing this on my days off and I’m waiting at home for no one to show up.

If you would like paid lessons, I will discuss fees with each individual and will require payment in advance.

ONE ON ONE ALREADY SCHEDULED SESSIONSIf you have a 1-1 free session scheduled, please message me and we will work something out.

Thank you for understanding.

Here we go! Dates and times for the next few weeks….

Please comment to let me know which you choose for each lesson 1-3). I’d like to keep each session to no more than 6 dogs. Each dog must have its own handler.

If you have a dog that should not be in a group setting, message me and I’ll look for other times for you. This should ONLY be reactive dogs or dogs with a bite history.

We will start with basics

When attending a training class, it is essential that everyone in the house is onboard with following any and all new rules for your dog. Having different people with different rules or expectations is confusing and not fair.

As many members of the household who can attend training should. Young children who will be distracting and take your attention away from training should be left at home.

Please let me know if anything is unclear or you have specific questions.

How do I train?

I consider myself to use a “balanced” approach to my training. I use praise/rewatd, correction, and encouragement. I do NOT use punishment. I don’t believe in hitting a dog or hurting them in any way. Anyone found to be doing so will be asked to leave immediately and not return.

Correction is necessary and not designed to hurt the dog or break its spirit. Your dog will still have a personality and still get to be a dog.

I require mutual honesty and treating all dogs and people present with dignity and respect. We do not look down on someone who is struggling; we help and encourage them.

I am training you to train your dog. You must commit to 2-3 training sessions of 10-15 minutes EVERYDAY on your own between sessions with me. Training is life long. Maintenance consists of at least one training session per day for as long as you want your dog to continue with the learned appropriate behaviors. This is not optional. If you can’t commit to this, I’m not the right trainer for you.

There are no bad dogs, just dogs with people problems❤️ it’s not our fault❤️. In most cases we just don’t know what we are or are not doing right. We can learn!

If I’m not a good fit for you, let me know and I can most likely refer you to a trainer more suited to your style.

If you decide to come to free training sessions:
*your dog must be vaccinated and current
*we will be outside, dress accordingly
*bring p**p bags, you will clean up after your own dogs and take them (dogs AND p**p bags) with you to dispose of (p**p bags NOT dogs)
*bring water and a bowl for your dog
*bring yourself some water too
*treats- yes! I recommend training sized treats and a treat pouch that clips to you, a pocket works too
*i recommend a slip collar, also referred to improperly as a choke chain collar. These help you SAFELY correct your dog and do not harm your dog if they are used properly. I would go to a reputable PET store and have your dog fitted. Proper fit is very important. It’s not realistic to correct using a harness and regular collars can do ire harm.
*you will need a 5-6 foot long leash
*the only bathroom facility is an outhouse that was here when I moved in and I’ve never been in it so use at your own risk

This is my private home, please be respectful of my animals, my property and my privacy.

I am offering some FREE training this summer.

Times are hard, shelters are full, rescues are full. Dogs and owners need help and can’t afford training.

I want to be part of the solution. I am going to create some group training and some individual training when it is absolutely necessary. I want to maximize efficiency while providing the appropriate help.

I am only available evenings. And all sessions will be at my home in New Matamoras.

***Please comment below with
Dog name, age, breed, any training they’ve had and what they are doing well
What you need help with or would like to accomplish.

Bite history

***if you would prefer a phone consult, please note that in the comments and I’ll work with you to set that up. Please be prepared with answers to the see questions. ***

I’m going to delete this page. I don’t have enough time to keep up with it, obviously since I never post anything.

I only have a few followers anyway 🤷🏻‍♀️ feel free to follow my personal FB page or my journey of buying a cabin. I’ll post the link here in a few.

A muzzle is a tool just like a leash and a collar. When used properly.

“Repeat after me. Muzzled dogs are NOT BAD DOGS.

Muzzled dogs have good humans.

Muzzled dogs can have more experiences because they are managed. Their quality of life is INCREASED because of the muzzle.

Muzzled dogs can still have treats.

Muzzled dogs are not miserable.

Muzzled dogs are muzzled for ALL KINDS OF REASONS. Not just aggression. Maybe they eat too much stuff off the ground and get sick. Maybe they play too rough. Maybe they over react when startled. Maybe they want to eat squirrels. Maybe they need to learn better social skills. Not all dogs in a muzzle have a bite history, some have them on to prevent that in the first place. Sometimes the muzzle is more for the HUMAN than the DOG because it allows them to feel more confident. Big dogs, small dogs, and all breeds and sizes need muzzles sometimes. It is not a breed specific tool.

Muzzled dogs are GOOD DOGS WITH GREAT HUMANS who are setting their dog up to not fail. Judging a dog in a muzzle and their owner is the same as judging someone for wearing a helmet. They are choosing safety and being proactive and it takes WORK to get your dog to a level that they are happily working and walking around in a muzzle so kudos to the humans and dogs I work with who put that time in to better their dogs lives.

If you see a dog in a muzzle, don’t stare, don’t ask rude questions, just say “nice job, great looking dog!” And carry on. Believe me, you will have just made that humans day.”
