Temperament! We at Joyful Golden Retrievers want your puppy to come to you with the best temperament. We start at day three with Early Neurological Stimulation or ENS. ENS is designed to introduce your puppy from a very early age to mild stressors in a controlled way. We build upon this and continue each day introducing more complex stressors with a quick recovery of safety, love and comfort. Remember, these puppies are learning EVERYTHING NEW from sights, smells, sounds, tastes and touches from other dogs, humans and the environment. Even cradling the puppy is stressful as they are upside down! We break it down and help the puppy build trust and confidence along the way! This in turn allows us to deliver to YOU a puppy who is ready to confidently and courageously conquer the world! Puppies are born as altricial species which means they are born helpless and require care for a length of time. They are born relatively immobile, mostly lack hair or down, are unable to obtain food on their own, and must be cared for. Dogs, cats, owls, kangaroos and humans are examples of altricial species. In contrast, precocial organisms are mobile and independent within hours or days following birth or hatch. Specific to our puppies, they are born with their eyes and ears closed. Around day 9 their eyes and ear canals open and they begin to see and hear their surroundings. Until then they rely on their mother, humans and their whiskers and smell which leads them to their mother and their food source. It’s amazing when they are sound asleep and their mom has gone out for a break when to return they sense her and are frantic to find by heat source their mother and food.

🎈Two weeks! Two weeks! Two weeks! Miss Aspen is excited to welcome her first litter in two week! 🐾 Can you tell we are excited?!? 🐾 Everything is going just as planned, she is slowing down with extra sleepy time yet she still gets her happy walks, her belly is growing and her appetite is ramping up! 🐾 🐾 In the next two weeks the puppies with have their biggest growth spurt so we expect Miss Aspen to keep growing! 🐾
