UPDATE: Thank you to those of you who have donated! Please if everyone who sees this can give even $5, we need to be able to cover vet appointments, prescription food, ad medications!
We are in desperate need of funds! We have NO reserves! We have received virtually NO recent donations! We have NO emergency medical fund! Please HELP! You can donate using one of the following links, or the donation button on this post:

We have Ronnie and Ozzie coming into the rescue early in the week who need to see the vet prior to going to a home. We have Zeus seeing the vet on Wednesday for exam and vaccines. While we cannot accept donations for Ronnie and Ozzie until they are technically in the rescue, donations from our general fund can be applied to their care.
Right now, we are broke. Right now, we have dug as deep into our own personal pockets as possible ā thereās literally nothing left in those pockets. Right now, donations have come to a screeching halt. And, right now, we still have dogs needing medical care, dogs who need special food, dogs in boarding, dogs ready for adoption who have been waiting in foster a very long time to find their families. And, as always, we wait for the other āshoe to dropā with the inevitable medical emergency.
With over 6,000 followers to our page, if each person gave only $5, we would be able to meet all of our expenses and go on and help more dogs in need, during the current . Heck, we could do that if only ½ of you gave $5!
Weāre not asking you to give a lot ā we know that large donations become harder as the economic landscape becomes more uncertain. $5, or $10 is all weāre asking (of course weāll be eternally grateful if you can give more). If youāre able to make your donation monthly, it means thereās an income we can count on. If you can only make a one-time donation, we will be so thankful, as well.
Some of the dogs needing help are pictured in this post.
Ronnie and Ozzie are the two dogs coming in on Tuesday. They will need at minimum intake exam, vaccines, and 4dx test - estimated cost $750. Additionally, Ozzie has a massive tumor on his foot that will need to be diagnosed and treated. He likely will have a needle biopsy done on Tuesday to start the diagnostic process - estimated cost another $300, so we will need $1050 for their visit on Tuesday.
Zeus goes to the vet on Wednesday for his intake exam, vaccines and tests. The only vaccine he had at intake was rabies. He will need the rest. Plus he is cryptorchid (one testicle is undescended), so the vet will need to locate that testicle if possible, which may necessitate x-rays. We expect the visit on Wednesday to cost about $600, and his neuter surgery, going forward, is likely to cost at least $800 because the surgery for a cryptorchid dog is much more major than an average neuter.
Chance needs heartworm treatment - estimated cost $1500. He was hospitalized twice in two weeks for a respiratory illness at a cost of about $1,000. Heās a dog who was found roaming in horrible shape. He was treated for a serious skin infection and an equally serious double ear infection. Heās been neutered. Heartworm treatment is his last step before he is ready to find a fabulous forever home. Despite all the challenges heās faced, heās a loving, happy, friendly, wonderful dog!
Moe has been suffering from chronic hepatitis ā a liver biopsy cost about $3,000, and medications and special food costs about $600/month. Heās a senior boy about 10 years old who spent most of his life living in the yard and in the garage, until he was surrendered to our rescue. His follow-up bloodwork was GREAT! In order to keep it that way he needs to continue on the medications and special food.
Barb has a grade 5 heart murmur and early kidney disease ā an echocardiogram cost about $1500 and medications and special food costs about $400/month. She will remain in rescue for the rest of her life, being dearly loved (and just possibly a little spoiled š ).
Pepper is dealing with skin allergies and an ulcer on her cornea ā so far, her vet visits, tests, and medications have cost about $900. She was about to be euthanized, and we just couldnāt let that happen. It took her about a day out of the shelter to relax and stop being scared, and then she showed us what a wonderful dog she is. Sheās looking for a CT foster or forever family. At about 8 years old, sheās ready to relax and enjoy her retirement!
Sasha broke out of her crate during a thunderstorm and hurt her ear, resulting in an aural hematoma. The cost for the vet visit and procedure to take care of it was about $500. We were asked to back her when sheād been with one foster for about a year without finding a family. She was headed back to a shelter where she would have been euthanized, and we couldnāt let that happen. Sheās about 8 years old and is a sweet, loving, absolutely wonderful dog who deserves the best forever home ever!
The list could go on, but you get the idea, weāre sure.
