Our rescue tries to help as many dogs as possible with substantial medical needs. We firmly believe they deserve the best of care and a soft landing place (our rescue and then a forever family if it's possible for them to be adopted). We depend on YOUR generosity to do that. Sadly, everyone wants a dog saved but, once they're safe, are less likely to back up their wishes for the dog with donations. And the hard reality is that, without donations, we cannot help any more dogs like these:
Gigi came to us only last Saturday. She'd been at an ER vet and then with a caring individual who saved her from a life of neglect but couldn't keep her. Gigi is 14 years old. She is in end-stage kidney failure and has a grade 3 heart murmur. Other tests are still pending. She's a sweet-as-molasses little 10-lb chihuahua who just wants and deserves love. She currently is on subcutaneous fluids, a phosphate binder, an appetite stimulant and an anti-nausea drug, and will be started on prescription food. She is a hospice dog in the rescue. Once all tests are done (they're expensive) her maintenance care will cost about $400/month.
Chance is due for his 2nd and 3rd shots for heartworm disease: $800
Hope had her first injection for heartworm and will need two more: Total cost for her treatment $1200
Sweet Anne needs surgery on both of her knees to correct luxating patellas: $5,000
Barb is a hospice dog in the rescue due to a grade 5 heart murmur and kidney disease: Monthly cost of her care $450
All dogs are pictured on this post.
Your donation of the cost of your morning trip through the drive-thru will make all the difference to these dogs and others who wait for help. We absolutely cannot take on more without your help. Donations literally have dried up. Even grant organizations don't have funding to continue to help. What we can do as a rescue organization is 100% in our donor's hands. As a 501c3 approved non-profit organization, we can do absolutely nothing without YOUR help.
Please become part of our rescue team by donating today!
