Good afternoon ERVH fam! We wanted to let you know that we will be closing briefly on Monday 6/24, from 9 am until 10:30 am for a staff meeting. If you will be dropping your pet off for a procedure or drop off appointment we ask that you drop off between 7 am and 8:45 am or wait until 10:30 am to drop off.

Valerie came in for a recheck with Dr. Jo and was a perfect girl! Her brother likes to lick her ears, precisely she is getting rechecks for so the solution is to put a scarf on her! We can all agree it is adorable in her!

Let’s talk about something we all hate: ✨✨Nail trims✨✨ Now, while we don’t mind giving your fur babies their pawdicures, we know that some of them DO mind. And owners are always asking us is there a way to make this an easier and less stressful process. Have you ever heard of a scratch board? As shown by our lovely demonstrator, Ember, you hide treats in the compartment. Then, the dog paws and scratches at the sandpaper surface to get to the treats. This act files the dog’s nails. It’s a fun game for your dog with yummy treats and you get a nail trim in the process! You can order one from Amazon! Disclaimer time! We know that not every dog will take to this. We still encourage you to try! If your dog isn’t food motivated, try teaching with a favorite toy! Even if your dog doesn’t get it at first, don’t be discouraged! It can take some time to get the hang of it! It also only files down the front nails. It doesn’t do the backs or the dew claws. But hey! That’s a good chunk of the nail trim and that’s a win in our eyes! Pictures of some results in the comments, as well as the scratch board shown in the video!

Mr. Midi from Spaymart was such a good boy for his acupuncture today with Dr. Claire! Just some snacks and pets, and he’s a happy boy!
