On September 28, NGOs, governments, and people from all over the world will unite to on World Rabies Day to spread awareness about the dangers of the disease, and how it can be stopped. The event, put on by the Global Alliance for Rabies Control (GARC), seeks to educate the public about how rabies can be eradicated in people and domestic animals if we take the appropriate steps. Around the world, dogs are the most common animal affected by rabies, with more than 99 percent of human cases coming from dog bites. GARC sponsors the event not only to raise awareness for one day, but with the hope that communities can put measures in place to help control the spread of rabies all year round.

Update: Friday 9/13-we are still without power so will remain closed today. We are hopeful about tomorrow as Entergy as updated that they hope to have it restored by 10pm tonight. We apologize for the inconvenience

To keep the staff safe tomorrow through the storm, we will be closing the clinic at 5:00pm today and plan to re-open on Thursday, 9/12/24 at 7:30am. Please give us a call today at 504-866-6316 if you need to pick up a refill of any of your pet's medication or food. Medvet, located at 2315 N. Causeway Blvd, Metairie, LA will be open for emergency care and can be reached by calling 504-835-8508. If you would like access to your pet's vaccine history, lab results and medication information- download the PetDesk app and create an account.
