At just 1 year old, she’s already mastered the art of polite society—potty trained, great with other dogs, and an absolute gem with humans of all ages, kids included.

This little Lady Beaglington has a Ph.D. in Good Manners (she follows directions better than your GPS) and listens so intently you’d think she’s taking notes. "Hello, my name is Lee, and I am a sweet puppy who is looking for a loving home. Im believed to be a Jack Russell Terrier mix so I should be on the small size under 25 lbs when I grow up. I was found alone as a stray in a country cemetery located in southeast Louisiana and ended up in a scary shelter and this nice rescue took one look at me and said they will help me find a loving home. I am a friendly and playful pup, and I love nothing more than spending time with my human friends. I enjoy chasing after my favorite toy and getting belly rubs. I am a good boy who is always eager to learn new things. I have received my first set of three vaccinations, am microchipped and will be neutered when I am 6 months old, all covered by the rescue. Princeton is a friendly fellow and gets along well with other dogs, making him the perfect companion for your furry friend or a great addition to a multi-dog family. He is a gentle and affectionate dog who loves to snuggle up with his human friends and receive lots of affection and belly rubs. He loves going for walks and playing with his favorite toys, but he's also content to relax at home and enjoy the comfort of his loved ones. Gizmo has the most endearing puppy eyes and heartwarming snuggles. He's guessed to be just over one year old and is 40 pounds of cuddle bug perfection. He’s had a hard life and was just barely saved from the euthanasia list, yet he still looks at humans with the desire to please and be loved. He's playful and affectionate with both dogs and humans alike and is a 10/10 velcro dog! He’s cat indifferent, child friendly and absolutely loves dogs. He'd really enjoy having another playful dog to curl up with in his forever home — bonus points if it's his foster sister Missy, who is also available for adoption. They quickly became besties in his foster home!

Gizmo's happy and easy going nature suggests all great things! Gizmo is potty trained and sleeps quietly in his crate all night. He is heartworm positive although he shows no symptoms and his treatment will be covered by the rescue. Gizmo is ready to bring a lifetime of love and joy to a lucky family!

Meet Paulie B: The Cuddle Don of Your Heart

Picture this: a 37-pound Carolina Dog/Yellow Lab mix lounging on your couch, giving you a look that says, “Fuggedaboutit, I’m staying right here.” That’s Paulie B, your calm, cuddly, low-energy wise guy who’s ready to run the snuggle game in your house.

Don’t let his name fool you—Paulie B’s not about causing trouble (unless stealing your heart counts). He’s dog-friendly, cat-friendly, and people-friendly—basically the guy everyone invites to the party because he’s the chillest one there. Meet Sarabi – Queen of Second Chances!

Much like her namesake from The Lion King, Sarabi has faced some rough days. Before her rescue, she was stuck outside with her collar zip-tied to a trailer, ruling over… well, not much. But fear not—the circle of life has turned in her favor! Sarabi finished raising her adorable litter (all adopted, because obviously her cubs are stars), and now it’s her turn to find her kingdom.

Sarabi can be a bit cautious with new people at first—think “Is this Scar, or are you cool?” vibes—but once she warms up, she’s all in. At around 1.5-2 years old and a perfect 40 lbs, this majestic lady would thrive as either a solo ruler or with another dog of similar size to co-lead her pride. She loves walks, car rides, and can sniff out snacks like she’s Rafiki hunting for wisdom. Oh, and did we mention she’s potty trained? Hakuna matata, indeed!

Sarabi is up to date on vaccines and will be spayed after finishing the first phase of her heartworm treatment, which is fully covered by the rescue. She’d do best in a home with adults or older kids—because let’s be real, even queens need a little peace and quiet.

THERE’S DEFINITELY SOMETHING ABOUT MARY!

Is it those deep, soulful eyes that seem to say, “You’re the best person I’ve ever met, even though you just gave me a cracker”? Or is it the way she wags her tail with the enthusiasm of someone finding out pizza delivery is 5 minutes early? Maybe it’s how she stares at you like you’re a wizard every time you feed her or open her kennel door, like “Wow, you did that… for me?”

This girl’s story is Oscar-worthy: she raised her puppies like a hero, but nobody even knew she had a name—until recently. Months ago, she had never felt the sweet joy of an ear rub, but now? She’s hooked on love and nose boops. All Mary really wants is to nap at your feet, enjoy a slow stroll where she can sniff literally everything, and melt into her favorite bed after a big day of doing… nothing much.

This 62-pound heartthrob is house trained, leash trained, and very calm—the definition of low-maintenance. Cats? Eh, jury’s still out. Dogs? After a proper meet-and-greet, she’s all in—but at the end of the day, she’ll always pick your feet over anything else.

She’s also a sucker for serenades. Got a little “Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary” in your repertoire? Sing it, and she’ll look at you like you just won a Grammy.

Mary’s around two years old, a sweet Pitbull mix, and fresh off heartworm treatment and spay surgery. Basically, she’s healthy, happy, and ready to be the leading lady in your life.

Howdy, partners! I’m Cowgirl, and I’m ready to ride into your heart! ?

At 1 year old and 42 lbs of pure yeehaw energy, I’m a lab, hound and pittie mix with a heart as big as the Texas sky. Whether you’ve got snacks, squeaky toys, or just a good belly rub, I’m ready to saddle up and make every day feel like a hoedown!

Now, let me tell you—life is all about wrangling new skills, and I’m hot on the trail to becoming a potty-trained pro. Foster Mom says I’m getting real good at doing my business outside, and you best believe I’ve got my leash-walk swagger down. I reckon with a bit more practice, I’ll be the sheriff of strolls in no time!

I used to think nibbling was the cowboy way, but Foster Mom taught me otherwise, and now I’ve hung up my chompers. Instead, I’ve become a connoisseur of all things chewy—but only the right things, I promise! Chew toys? A-MAZING. Snacks? YES, MA’AM. Honestly, snacks are my love language.

I love my little kennel (it’s like my own bunkhouse), and I do my darndest to keep it tidy. Foster Mom says it’s time for me to find my forever homestead—her biggest dream is for me to have a family of my very own. And folks, I’m ready to giddy up and make that dream come true!

Sweeten Up Your Life with Candy!

Hershey, y’all! I’m Candy, a 1 year old, 42-lb lab-and-pittie mix with a personality as sweet as a jellybean and energy like a sugar rush. If you’ve been looking for a treat that never melts and only gets better with time, I’m your girl!

I’ve been perfecting the art of outdoor potty breaks (Foster Mom says I’m so close to being a potty pro—just like unwrapping a perfect lollipop without tearing the wrapper). Walking on a leash? I’m getting better every day, and soon I’ll strut through the neighborhood like I’m on parade, tossing metaphorical candy to everyone I meet.

Now, listen—like any candy lover, I used to nibble on things I shouldn’t (oops!). But Foster Mom laid down the rules, and I’ve kicked that bad habit faster than a kid swapping out black licorice on Halloween. Now I stick to chew toys, which are basically my version of an all-you-can-chew candy buffet.

I adore my kennel—it’s like my own candy jar where I feel cozy and safe. I keep it clean because, you know, presentation matters (even to a candy dog!). Snacks? Ohhh, they’re my kryptonite. Seriously, I’ll do just about anything for a treat. Peanut butter? Yes. Cheese? DOUBLE YES. My love for snacks is unmatched.

Foster Mom says it’s time for me to find my forever home—her dream is for me to finally settle down with a family that’ll love me as much as I love treats. If you’ve got kiddos (the respectful kind who know not to shake the candy jar), I’d fit right in. And I’m friendly with other dogs, too, so long as we can share the fun!

Hi there! I'm Pixie Pineapple Rose, a sweet, friendly and playful goofball. The shelter guessed my age at 2 but I am probably closer to 1, based on my teeth and my puppy behavior. I am a petite Blue Nosed Staffordshire Terrier weighing only 42 lbs but still filling out a little. I was found as a stray and spent 2 months in a high kill shelter in rural Louisiana waiting for someone to claim me and they never came so I ended up on the euthanasia list. Luckily for me Take Paws Rescue saw my story and found a foster to save me and are now helping me find a new home of my own. I have a LOT of energy, I love to play and I get the best zoomies. I am also really smart! I really impressed my foster Dad with how quickly I learned "sit" and "wait" and with how nicely I walk on leash when I have my harness on! I like to say hello to all of the people we pass on our walks and I can tell they like it, too. I also love to snuggle and give hugs. I play nicely with other dogs but my older foster sisters have been suggesting I take it down a notch so I am working on that but I think I would like a home with a fenced yard so I can run around and get my energy out! When I am done running around I would like to sit in your lap and chill while you pet me if that's ok. I am spayed, heartworm negative, up to date with routine vaccinations and ready to come home with you so please fill out the application right away!

Hello, I'm Paisley! I’m a 2 year old Carolina/Shepherd mix who weighs 35 lbs. I spent 2 months in a shelter in rural Louisiana and was saved on the brink of euthanasia by this nice rescue who promised to find me a home of my own. Now I’m enjoying the game of life and I'm always ready to play. I've got energy to spare and a playful spirit that keeps me curious about the world around me. I'm a bit of a goofball, but that's part of my charm. I'm also smart and friendly, always eager to meet new friends. I'm learning to walk on a leash and working on getting the hang of potty training and my foster is teaching me not to jump on people when I get excited and I’m catching on quickly! 🐶Story time!! 📖💛Anya and Royale’s story is one of unconditional love, resilience, and second chances. 💕 Rescued from a rural shelter where they were on the euthanasia list, this little family has been through so much. Shortly after arriving at Take Paws Rescue, Anya gave birth to 7 puppies. A few days later, Royale joined them, becoming a loving, devoted father figure.But their story didn’t end there. When another rescue dog, Barbara, had a medical emergency and couldn’t care for her newborn puppies, Anya stepped up without hesitation. She took in Barbara’s 4 puppies, cleaning, feeding, and nurturing them as if they were her own—while Royale played the perfect father figure, cleaning and caring for them, and letting the puppies climb all over him. 🐾❤️Now, this incredible family of 11 puppies, plus two amazing foster dog parents, is thriving. And here’s the best part: Anya and Royale are not only amazing parents—they’re also looking for forever homes of their own! 💛All 11 puppies will also be available for adoption when they’re old enough. This brave mama (Sweet Pea) was saved from a shelter just in time—on the day she was scheduled to be euthanized. 💔 Though emaciated and without her own pups, she still had so much love to give.Around the same time, a tiny 4-week-old puppy (Bernadette) was found alone on a porch. Without hesitation, this sweet mama took in the little one as if it were her own. 🐾❤️Now they have each other 🥹Stories like this remind us why we rescue.
