Laissez les bons temps rouler, y’all! I’m Tipitina!

I’m an 11-month-old Great Dane mix with big dreams—literally. I already weigh 75 lbs, and I’m still growing, so prepare for some jumbo-sized cuddles. That’s right, I’m on track to be the kind of big girl who can steal your heart and your couch all at once. I’m fully vaccinated, spayed, and unfortunately, I picked up some heartworms in New Orleans (guess they thought my heart looked like a nice Airbnb). But don’t worry—I’ll be going through treatment to kick those freeloaders out for good!

I was recently adopted from a shelter in the Big Easy, but my previous owner is expecting a baby soon and decided it was best for me to find a new forever family. So now I’m out here, looking for my second line—a new home where I can be the life of the party. I’ve got love to give and goofy energy to spare, so get ready to laugh. Just a heads-up: I’m still figuring out that whole “don’t jump on people” thing, which means little kids might get an accidental boop. Older kiddos, though? Perfect playmates!

I love dogs, but I can be a little particular—slow intros are key, because, you know, I like to vibe-check before committing. As for cats… let’s just say I might be too curious for their taste. If you’ve got a big yard, I’ll run around like it’s Mardi Gras every day, burning off all this excitement. And hey, a little obedience training wouldn’t hurt—I’m ready to learn if it means more treats (I’m a sucker for snacks).

Hello, I'm Wasabi! I'm young and full of life. I'm sweet like sugar and brave like a knight. I love cuddles, they make me feel safe and warm. I'm smart too, I can learn tricks fast. Loyalty is my middle name, I'll be by your side, always. I'm gentle, even with the smallest creatures. (I am a bit dog-selective with male dogs my size and larger.) I need nice and slow meetings with dogs and I do better with females. I'm friendly to everyone I meet. Oh, and I absolutely adore children! Their laughter makes my tail wag uncontrollably. Why should you adopt me? Because I promise to fill your life with joy, loyalty, and endless cuddles. I'll be your best friend, your confidante, your family. Let's make beautiful memories together.

Wasabi is guessed to be around 1 yr old and is currently 50lbs. He is super laid back and is good at taking cues from other dogs. He would be great in a home with kids, dogs and cats. He’s kennel and potty trained. He and his sister were rescued from a high kill shelter, but now they spend their days playing with toys, lounging on the sofa and playing in their baby pool.

If you’re searching for a loyal & loving companion, Emily is your girl! This sweet 3-year-old, 35-pound Treeing Walker Hound mix was adopted a while back but was recently surrendered when a child in the home was discovered to be allergic. Now, Emily is ready for her second chance at happiness!

Emily is dog- & kid-friendly, housetrained, & wonderfully well-behaved. She’s an easygoing dog who is kennel-trained, though she’s trusted to free-roam when no one’s home & does great (just be mindful of food left within her reach!). She loves other dogs, shares toys & food, & even tucks herself into bed each night.

Active & energetic, Emily would do best in a home with a spacious, secure yard where she can play & be exercised regularly. She’ll thrive in a home without cats, as she’s a little too interested in them for peaceful coexistence.

Smart & eager to please, Emily is also receptive to training. She’s currently working on walking calmly on a leash without pulling when she sees other dogs or squirrels, as well as managing her excitement when it’s time for a walk or when you come home. She’s made great progress & keeps improving each day!

Sapphire is quiet, observant, and loves hanging out in snug spots where she feels secure. While she’s still getting used to her surroundings, she’s warming up to her foster family’s gentle care and starting to let her playful side show. Sapphire is around 5 pounds now and will grow into a beautiful, medium-to-large-sized shepherd mix. She’s had her first vaccines, dewormers, is microchipped, and will be spayed at 6 months of age.

Estimated to have been born in mid-September, Hero is a true shepherd mix who’ll grow into an active, medium-to-large family dog. Presley is a stunning young yellow lab mix with mesmerizing blue eyes. Guessed to be around a year old and 35lbs, Presley was surrendered to a shelter with nine of her canine housemates where they were scheduled for euthanasia before being rescued. Presley is very timid, but she’s slowly learning to love human interaction. She great with dogs and would enjoy having a a canine sibling to learn from. She’s also cat-friendly, but would prefer a home without young children while she adjusts to indoor life as member of the family. Presley will make a wonderful addition to a patient and understanding family. She is heartworm positive but doesn’t show any signs and has already begun treatment, which is covered by the rescue.

Little Lolli is loving life since being rescued! She's now 9 months old, but her first 8 months were spent in a crate, craving affection, food and freedom. Lolli broke her front teeth at the roots, actually damaging her jaw while frantically trying to escape the small kennel she called home. When she arrived at the vet for dental surgery, we discovered that she was also severely emaciated. She's healed beautifully and now weighs just under 30lbs and will probably remain on the smaller side of medium when grown.

Lolli is young and playful, loves all people, and will velcro to her special person, always happy for cuddles. And who could resist her adorable ear floofs?! She’s great with dogs, cats and kids. She’s living with several dogs in her foster home where she enjoys playing with the younger ones, and snuggling next to the adults. After fighting so hard to escape her horrid past, Lolli is now ready to experience the best a happy life has to offer!

Meet Oliver! This short legged, long bodied, whirlwind of personality is ready to find his forever person and change someone’s life forever!

Oliver is around a year old and 23lbs long, he is house trained, walks well on a leash and loves other dogs. He adores his people and due to the trauma of being abandoned in a rural sugar cane field, left to fend for himself, alone, scared and hungry, he now hates to be alone, so needs a person who is able to be with him most of the time. He loves car rides and is ready for any adventure at any time! He has bounds of energy and is happiest with a toy in his mouth! Yet he is ready to snuggle down on the couch or burrow under the blankets in bed with his person whenever the opportunity presents!

Oliver is neutered, up to date on vaccinations and heartworm negative. He is working hard to perfect his good boy manners and will thrive with someone willing to help him keep working towards his dreams of achieving bestest boy status!

Oliver is a one of a kind bundle of personality, love, excitement, and affection. He loves as hard as he plays and is as loyal as he is long! He is a truly fun little dog who is sure to bring his person endless joy and happiness!

Meet Miss Piggy: Queen of Wiggles and Snacks!

Looking for a furry bestie who’s equal parts comedian, cuddle bug, and snack enthusiast? Meet Miss Piggy, a 38-pound terrier mix with a Ph.D. in “Good Girl” Studies and a minor in Wiggleology! At just a year old, she’s mastered the art of making every day a belly-rubbing, toy-tossing adventure.

Miss Piggy is not just people-friendly—she’s people-obsessed. She greets everyone like they’re a long-lost friend, often with her signature full-body wiggle and an ear-to-ear grin! She’s also a social butterfly with dogs, a polite houseguest with cats, and an all-around goofball who’ll keep you laughing with her playful antics.

Hi there! I'm Cobb, a friendly, loyal, and sweet puppy. I was born in a run down shelter in rural Louisiana in September 2024 and they think I a Belgian Malinois mixed with Black Mouth Curr so I’m going to be on the large size when I grow up. The kennels at the shelter were not secure and one day Momma and all 7 puppies got out and we were on the run. Me and my siblings were found hiding under a building nearby but Momma was nowhere to be found. The Rescue who saved us had also planned on taking Momma but she was not caught in time to make our transport and she is still on the run to this day. I’m not just any pup, I'm your future best friend. I love being around people, their company brings me joy. My favorite pastime? Hanging out with you! Whether we're playing fetch in the park or cuddling on the couch, as long as I'm with you, I'm the happiest pup around. I'm eager to learn new tricks and I promise to always be by your side. I have received my first round of 3 sets of vaccinations, am microchipped and will be neutered when I am 6 months old. I’m just a little guy with a big heart, waiting for my forever home. Meet Chicken, the only dog on earth who could be a supermodel *and* a professional snuggler. This 55-pound hunk of love is a 2.5-year-old red-nosed pit bull who’s lived through some drama (rescued from extreme neglect, tied up in a yard like yesterday’s laundry). But guess what? Chicken doesn’t hold grudges—he’s all about living his best life, which involves a LOT of tennis balls and belly rubs.

This guy’s basically perfect. He’ll happily accompany you on grand adventures, or curl up next to you for a Netflix marathon—his vibe is *flexible*. He’s part athlete, part couch potato, and 100% certified treat connoisseur. If you’re looking for a new BFF who’s equal parts chill and thrill, Chicken’s your guy. Meet Roo & Poquito – A Dynamic Duo of Tiny Charm

Straight outta Southeast Louisiana’s 100+ Chihuahua hoarding case, Roo (7 months, 7 lbs) and Poquito (5 months, 6 lbs) are a bonded pair of hilarious and quirky little lovebugs on the hunt for their forever lap! These boys might have had a strange start to life, but all they want now is to be loved, held, and cuddled non-stop. If you’ve got a free lap, consider it claimed!

Roo is the brave (and slightly mischievous) leader with an unforgettable underbite that will win you over in seconds. He’s the escape artist of the duo, always looking for the next big adventure, but don’t worry—Poquito keeps him grounded! Roo does best with soft foods, so if you’re a chef in the kitchen, he’ll happily be your taste tester. He’s nervous around young children and would thrive in a home with older kids or teens who understand his need for space to warm up.

Poquito is the younger, more cautious sidekick who’s a collector at heart—if it’s fun and small enough to carry, it’s going back to his crate treasure trove! He’s timid but curious around kids, so with a little time, he could be your next best cuddle buddy. Poquito has a bit of a food-hoarding habit (he’s serious about his meals), but a quick “no” will set him straight.

Both are kennel-trained and snooze together in their shared XL crate every night. It took them a few days to warm up to their foster, but once they did, they became loyal little shadows, following their human everywhere. They’ll smother you with kisses, charm you with their quirks, and melt your heart with their bond.

On Sunday, Oct. 13, we gathered at @heavenspets_ at Lake Lawn Metairie for a wonderful day of fitness, fun, and community spirit in support of our beloved pups.
