Reminder that pre-entries for the Acadiana KC Arnaudville FastCAT trial close TOMORROW September 20th! They will accept day-of entries during the trial October 4-6. If you've never been before, I highly recommend going to the seminar on October 3rd!

Some quick tips:

✅️ Make sure you read the premium & rules! Both documents contain a lot of information about this event & the whole sport.

✅ ️You need TWO leashes!

✅️ You need TWO people to run your dog. One to release at the start. One to catch at the end. If you are coming alone, make friends with someone BEFORE it's time to run your dog! Plenty of us are standing around willing to help... just ask!

✅ ️The catcher needs to be at the end BEFORE you walk into the chute.

✅ ️If you don't know if your dog "will do it," sign up for a Fun Run to see first. Let the Huntmaster know it's a Fun Run and the operator will help get your dog interested in the bag.

One of the best parts of attending the Poodle Club of America’s National Specialty is watching the rings transform from agility and obedience to conformation. Creole Poodle Club’s own Vice President Claude Martin created the layout this year. Thank you for your vision. The flowers and plants around the rings and venue were breathtaking. 💐🐩

Always ask to see the health testing of the parents for the puppy you are considering. Here are the testing requirements to obtain a CHIC number from OFA. These requirements are set forth by Poodle Club of America.

Carrying himself proudly, the Poodle has about him an air of distinction and dignity peculiar to himself. They are an active, intelligent, and elegant breed that is well known for their versatility.

Are you interested in a Standard Poodle? The OFA, working with the Poodle Club of America, recommends the following basic health screening tests for all breeding stock of Standard Poodles:
- Hip Dysplasia (OFA or PennHIP)
- ACVO Eye Exam
Health Elective (one of the following):
- Autoimmune Thyroiditis
- Sebaceous Adenitis
- Cardiac Exam (Basic, Advanced, or Standard Congenital Cardiac Exam)

Dogs meeting these basic health screening requirements are issued Canine Health Information Center (CHIC) numbers. For potential puppy buyers, CHIC certification is a good indicator the breeder responsibly factors good health into their selection criteria.
