Animal Rescue New Orleans (ARNO) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit grassroots volunteer-based organization created and dedicated to the rescue and aid of abandoned and homeless animals in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in Louisiana and Mississippi, including responding to the immediate needs of those animals in need of medical care, or who have been neglected, abused and deprived of love. ARNO promotes

the foster, adoption, and reunion of pets with caretakers, as well as spaying/neutering of all companion animals.

Yes your new favorite fundraiser has been extended until December 6th. We’ll draw your pet if you donate $20 to help ARNO's homeless animals. So what's the catch? We are a lot better at rescuing animals than drawing them!
We have all of our volunteer "artists" on standby ready to draw your pet. You may get lucky and get a drawing which will give you a good laugh, or you might get frame worthy artwork. ARNO's no-kill shelter survives uniquely through donations.
TO SUBMIT YOUR PHOTOS:
1. Text your pet picture to 504-669-1908 or email [email protected] along with your name, your pet's name and email address.
2. Donate a minimum of $20 per pet by credit card

Our staff and volunteers may turn your pet picture into a timeless work of art or more likely make you laugh. ARNO relies on donations to pay for vet care for homeless pets and we would like to have a little fun while raising these much-needed funds!
Pictures may be wacky or weird, wonderful, whimsical or well done or downright terrible as our volunteer « artists » will be drawing your pet. We may be better at rescue than art but it’s all to help homeless animals! NOTE you will receive a picture of the drawing. Donations needed for urgent surgery!

Freddie is a 10 year old Brussels Griffon. Found as a stray, it was immediately noted that she was missing part of her muzzle, leaving a gaping hole in the side of her mouth. In the meantime, she is currently medically boarded since being pulled from a municipal shelter. She was evaluated by the surgeon today and costs are expected to be $2,000.

ARNO's mission to save the abused, neglected, and ill can only be achieved with the support of donations. Our privately-ran rescue operates with no government funding and instead relies on the community to provide crucial care for animals like Freddie. Your gift helps heal her harrowing past as she begins her journey to a brighter future.

Update 4 puppies have been pulled so far. They are eating gruel and soft food on their own. URGENT NEED FOR PUPPY FOSTERS! Mama dog is no longer able to nurse her 10 puppies who were born on 10/24. We already have a foster for four puppies and would need two more puppy fosters to split up the last 6. They are just starting to eat a little food. We would need a foster able to foster at least until they are old enough to have 2 rounds of shots. This is Mama dog and the babies in the box. For more info email [email protected]

I'm a 10 month young American Bulldog mix ready to plop into a home. I play well with other dogs (even bigger ones!) and will happily chew on rope toys and play fetch. 1. Moose is very shy but great with other dogs, He needs time and patience to learn the ropes in a home. The ideal home would be a quiet home with a yard.
2. Coco is a happy girl, 4 years old, a boxer mix, who is great with dogs and cats. What is there not to like about her?
3. Fatima 4 years old and a little overweight. She has a huge personality and will keep you smiling.
4. Roy is almost a year old and such a good boy. He loves everyone and really loves his toys.
5. Frappe a cute one year old baby who is all puppy. She is super smart and will learn so quickly in a home.
6. Lotus is a sweet 10 month old pup who was left behind when her family could not keep her!

Say hello to Sunshine— a blind kitty in search of a home! ☀️ Sunshine is a tender, sweet, one year old cat. She was found as a stray with one eye severely infected and the other ruptured, leaving veterinarians with no choice but to remove both eyes. Sunshine is incredibly resilient and has quickly relearned how to maneuver the world without vision. She can still eat, drink, play, jump on couches, and even use the litter box just like any other cat. Her favorite toys are anything with bells in them. While in a foster home, she’s still shown her adoration for people. She’ll seek out the closest human for loving pets and Sunshine will return the favor with headbutts. She’s been in foster with another cat. Due to her differences, if her future home had another cat the resident cat would need to be low-energy, submissive, or frankly one that doesn’t care about other animals. All through September Sunshine’s adoption fee is reduced to $100. This includes vaccines, microchip, spay, and negative FIV/FeLv/heartworm test. Boudreaux aka “Booty” the 7 year Olde English Bulldogge is still on the search for a home! 💙💛 This lovable ham is goofy, outgoing, and always the life of the party. He loves going on adventures, such as to the pet store, running errands, and even to his foster mom’s workplace! He is very well-behaved and is housebroken. Boudreaux is also good with other dogs, cats, kids, and he rarely barks! 🏆 “Booty” is missing some hair on his back due to alopecia that has been growing back. Otherwise, he’s a healthy guy! This big ham was sadly surrendered to ARNO after his owner was facing landlord issues.
