It's and I wanted to introduce myself!

Hi, I'm Falkor! Don't let my size fool you, I'm as gentle as they come. My days are filled with tail wags and playtime. I'm always the first one to greet you with a lick on the hand and a wagging tail. I'm also a big fan of cuddles. There's nothing I love more than curling up with my foster family. I'm friendly to everyone I meet, always ready to make a new friend. I promise to bring so much joy and love into your life. So why not adopt me? I'm just a pup looking for a family to love.

If you want to meet me, reach out to the LASPCA today to schedule a time. Have your people call my people!

He modeled as a spokesdog in a recent photoshoot and he was the best boy! We won't tell you who he's rooting for this Sunday, but he would love to be watching the game with his new family.

Think a guy like Stanley might be right for you? Come and meet him at the New Orleans campus today!

I'm Zac! Nice to meet you all! A little birdie told me that it's and I wanted to pop on to introduce myself!

I am new to shelter life and would very much like to find a new home. I came to stay with my friends at the LASPCA when my mom had to move and could no longer keep me. I love to cuddle and would love a family that wants a boy to share the sofa with - especially if there are fuzzy blankets!

If you're looking for a new family member, come and see me at the New Orleans campus today!

Want to get out and enjoy the weather now that the snow has melted? What better way to do it than with a furry companion!

Our Doggies Day Out program pairs you with a pup and let's you enjoy the day with a shelter dog. Whether it's going for a nice long walk in the park under the oaks, grabbing a coffee from your favorite spot (and you can't forget the pup cup!) or just snuggling on the couch watching your favorite movie, Doggies Day Out allows our shelter dogs to experience a day of fun outside the shelter walls, helping their mood, giving them mental stimulation, and giving them important socialization skills.

If you're interested in participating in our Doggies Day Out program, give us a call at 504-368-5191 or stop by the shelter and talk to the team today!

It's and we've brought someone unique for you to meet!

Dancer is a 3 month old Tabby who's looking for work. That's right - he's a working cat! Usually we talk about how much our cat pals want to snuggle and play indoors, but Dancer is different - he isn't as social as some of the other kittens and prefers to spend his days making sure his space is critter free. He would make an excellent barn cat for someone who wants an outdoor pet and needs a watchful eye when they can't be around. Don't get us wrong - Dancer is still a joy to be around and he won't deny you pets and leg rubs, he just prefers to be independent and to contribute to the house he lives in.

Are you looking for a working cat? If so, Dancer might be the boy for you! You can meet Dancer at our Plaquemines Parish campus today!

Meet our !

Plum is a 2 year old, brown and white Pitbull Terrier mix looking for her furever family! This lady loves cuddles and snuggles, but isn't opposed to a game of fetch or chase if the mood strikes her. She's learning more and more confidence each and every day and we know that she's going to make an excellent companion for someone very soon. Are you looking for a special lady to keep you warm on these cold winter nights? If so, Plum might be the girl for you.

Minx is 6 months young and full of life, eager to explore every corner of her world. She loves to play, but is also quite content to curl up and purr in a warm lap. She's sweet and loves the company of others. She also enjoys chasing a toy mouse or watching the world go by from a sunny window. Minx is looking for a family who will appreciate her loving nature and playful spirit. We promise she will bring joy and companionship to your home. If you're looking for a friend who will love you unconditionally, Minx is your girl.

Come visit our adoption centers to meet Plum, Minx, and all of our wonderful, adoptable pets!

It's and we have something very special today!

Meet Bibs - a playful 2 year old Pitbull mix that loves two things - playing hard and cuddling when play is over! She's currently in a foster home waiting to find her furever family and her foster mom, Lauren, wanted to share a day in the life of Bibs. What an adorable, sweet girl!

Do you think that Bibs would be a good match for your family? If so, reach out and we can schedule a time for you to meet Bibs and see if you're the right person to be her next cuddle bug. She wants to meet you soon!

We love to see our alums having fun in the snow with their furever families! Everyone wants to get out and enjoy the winter wonderland, but it's important to keep safety in mind for you and your furry family members. Make sure you're paying attention to your pets and limit the time you allow them to enjoy the outdoor fun while temperatures are low. If you're cold, so are they, so look out for that shiver. When you come indoors, make sure your pet gets dried thoroughly and has a warm place to snuggle up and recover. If you ask Momo, inside is the best place to enjoy the snow anyway! :)

We're loving seeing all the pictures of our alumni and foster animals out with their humans enjoying the once in a lifetime snow days!

Monica & Joshua are loyal adopters and foster parents for the LASPCA and they took advantage of the beautiful snowfall and got some memorable family photos. Thanks to them for sharing and we know that Watson, Spooky, Ophelia, Cloet, and Odin and safe, happy, healthy, and warm while we make it through this winter storm.

It's another day Sneaux Day here in south Louisiana and our alumni are loving the experience (well most of them! LOL). Even the kitties are getting in on the snow action! Remember, if you're going to partake in the winter fun with your pets, make sure they have appropriate winter gear, monitor how long they're exposed to the weather, and make sure they have plenty of water available. Running through snow is a workout after all! Once you come inside to get warm, make sure your pets are dry and have a place to relax and stay warm.

If you are in an area with feral cat colonies and you want to assist in their care, you can help by checking on their shelters and making sure they have dry bedding available, as well as adequate covering on shelters. After several days of snow, it's possible that their bedding has become saturated and frozen. It's also important that they have access to food and a water source that is not frozen. With temperatures dropping at night, it's likely that water bowls have frozen over, so providing warm (NOT hot) water can help these animals make it through this winter weather.
