Senior dogs are WINNING today! We're thrilled to announce that we are one of 119 grant recipients awarded funding from the $1.57 million distributed by The Grey Muzzle Organization to support lifesaving efforts for senior dogs like Meringue here from our Plaquemines Campus.

This critical funding supports animal shelters and rescues across the USA, France, and Nepal in developing senior-focused programs—including medical and dental care, surrender prevention, hospice care, and adoption incentives. This will allow us to increase positive outcomes for the senior dogs in our care.

A huge thank you to Grey Muzzle and their generous supporters for making this possible and for believing in a time where every senior dog finds safety, love, and a soft landing.

Through our amazing partnership with The Louisiana SPCA and Louisiana Correctional Institute for Women, these shelter dogs are getting a second chance at a happy, well-trained future. LASPCA provides the pups, and LCIW’s dedicated inmate trainers help them master basic obedience, house manners, and even train a few for future service dog work! 🦮🌟

Our new students live at the facility with their trainers until they find loving forever homes. This life-changing program gives hope, purpose, and valuable skills to both dogs and people. 🐶💛

Stay tuned for weekly updates on our prison pups’ progress and get to know these inspiring furry faces! 🐕✨ Every dog you see is available for adoption on Petfinder.com under LASPCA—could your home be their new beginning?

Now, with the generously matching every gift up to $100,000, we can continue to provide medical care for animals who are at their most vulnerable and train the responders of tomorrow.

This is the final week of our Clear the Shelters campaign, a nationwide effort to help us make space for more animals in need as we operate at full capacity.

However, today, we have a very special "happy tail" to share with you all, in hopes of encouraging anyone who's on the fence about welcoming a new furry friend into their home.

Here is the story of how Maggie, a sweet pup who was the last of a litter of six to be adopted, found her unexpected forever home with someone very close to us, our CEO, Ana Zorrilla.
