MSSING DOG! - This sweet girl was being picked up at the Water Street Market from a rescue by her new owners when she got away. She answers to Missy or “Baby Girl”. If you see her please call her owner Jodie 518-232-0959!
There was a possible sighting on 32. New Paltz Police and dog catcher have both been notified. Please share and help this little rescue girl make it to her new forever home.

I know it’s been a while since anything has been posted here, losing Bob and Ellie hit in a way that completely incapacitated me and I haven’t been able to face posting anything here. But today is the 2 year anniversary of losing Ellie and it’s time to stop keeping this little man to myself. Some of you may have met him already, to others he may be a surprise. Introducing Basil (pronounced Bazel)! Thanks to the miracle of cryogenics Basil is actually Bob’s genetic half brother. He reminds me so much of Bob in a lot of his mannerisms, but he’s also 100% his own man. He’s about a year and a half old now and he absolutely adores his big sister Nora, so I’m sure these two will have lots of their own adventures together and hopefully you’ll be here to see them.

For those who have offered support since yesterday’s post, I want to thank you. It means a lot to us that our customers are so supportive and willing to help when we needed it.
Thankfully things have improved significantly since yesterday. We are now negotiating with our landlord and are thrilled to say that our free food table will be staying!
Water Street Market management and tenants have a long history of supporting the community through charity and engagement and we had faith that once we were able to speak to the right person we would be allowed to continue contributing to that legacy of community support with our free food table.
We love Water Street Market, it’s a wonderful community of small businesses where we have always felt 100% supported. This was why we were so dismayed by the initial lease we were handed, but once we got management’s attention, thanks to social media and your kind support, we were able to open a dialogue with the right person and collaborate toward a lease that works for both of us.
So many conflicts can be resolved with proper communication and luckily we’re now communicating and things are looking up. Thank you for always supporting us!

For the past two years of this pandemic we have made free pet food available to those in the community who could not afford to feed their animals due to loss of employment stemming from the pandemic. But now, after two years of doing our best to support our community, we are faced with an extreme hike in rent and new rules that will not only ban our table of free pet food, but also the sign saying we have free pet food for those in need.

If any of our customers have experience in commercial property law, we could certainly use your expertise and help navigating this.

This is Nora. I’ve waited quite a while to introduce this little lady who has been with me for a number of months already and who was lucky enough to get to know Bob before he crossed the rainbow bridge. She came from like Ellie did, but unlike Ellie, (who was surrendered to the shelter by her owners), this little girl had a rough time before she ended up at the shelter. The people who owned her chose to tie her up to a fence and leave her there. By the time someone from the neighborhood finally reported the abandoned dog and the great people at NYACC got to her, she had been traumatized to the point that she couldn’t be approached without snarling, growling and lunging. Once in the shelter she initially still showed these behaviors, but did eventually warm to the people who took care of her. I adopted her knowing that she was going to need a lot of love, time, patience, and work. Nora is a wonderful little dog who has blossomed in the time that she’s been with me. She bonded with Bob fairly quickly and clearly loved him. She’s a little bully package full of love, but still learning to trust and I’m patiently trying to teach her that no one will ever abandon her again. It’s a process. I don’t know if Nora will ever get to be a shop dog or if she will just be a happy couch potato, but we’re on this journey together now and we’re taking it one step at a time.

DCSPCA needs your help with this poor guy who was abandoned and is special needs.

🚑 URGENT RESCUE ALERT 🚑

We just rescued a dog who was alone in a park at night-- covered in snow and shivering. Luckily, a kind person brought this sweet dog (who we named Bam Bam) to safety before he froze to death.

Now he needs your help-- will you give a gift for his care?

We rushed Bam Bam to safety at the DCSPCA. But shortly after he arrived at the shelter, he started having seizures. We learned that poor Bam Bam has epilepsy... which may be why his family abandoned him in the first place.

Bam Bam is currently stable, but he will need lots of extra care, medication, and TLC. Will you give a gift to help with Bam Bam's medical bills? 🚨
