ROSIE is at the point in her training where she has earned a lot of freedom! She gets to be exactly who she is-a high energy field lab- because she knows what is expected of her and we have trust. Yes, commands are very important to establishing this balance through clarity in communication, but our ultimate goal is to have a dog that is a pleasure to be around because she makes good and right choices more often than wrong ones. ROSIE’s off-road adventure where she practiced keeping a radius and checking in. You can see where she starts to offer the behavior we want without being told. This is an important step towards the off-leash transition. Gooooood girl!!! 💜

We could not be more proud of Kylie Murray and her puppy EIN-whom you might remember from preschool class in the spring.
These two put the work in and make good communication a part of every day life.
Now they get to enjoy new challenges together, like off-road hikes and Ein’s first time being called from out of Kylie’s sight…. plus HUGE distractions of myself and KYLO along the way.

KAYCEE and KYLO killing it on “place” 🤎🖤 Impulse control and learning the “art of doing nothing” are two vital skills every dog should learn. “Place” is a crate without walls and a skill that is so handy for a lot of scenarios….A multiple dog household, when you have guests over and you want your dog present but respectful of space, outings where you’d like your dog to chill beside you, and many other situations. Setting clear standards is what we do here so your dog knows without a doubt what is expected. Then we ask you to hold your dog to the very same standards. This makes for a great relationship and much easier life together! Goooooood dogs

Remember UNO’s introduction to the muzzle last week? Check out his progress! For a dog new to wearing a muzzle it can feel very awkward to have it on and just move around-like struggling to walk and chew gum so to speak. By introducing it slowly and pairing it with other things he has learned in training-like good leash manners, it helps him focus on what he knows, and the positive experience he’s had with working together and wearing the muzzle. We are continuing to build a positive association! He is not trying to avoid or remove the muzzle. His tail wags never cease and his enthusiasm rubs off on me! Goooood boy 💙
