I have conducted training with other agencies as well including ATF, DEA, as well as police department K-9 units. Not every dog is the same therefore tra

ining needs to be shaped around the individual dog and their personality. I believe in E-collars, and all other collars for that matter as a last resort for training limiting the need to rely on the collar for correct behaviors. All of my training is done with Positive Reinforcement. .

Okay I was waiting until I knew what I was doing. I will continue to do boarding until the end of October. As of November we will be closed unfortunately. Now I need all of you to come up with an excuse to leave your dog/dogs with me sometime in October so I can hangout with them one last time and say goodbye!! lol I met so many great people while doing this and I fell in love with SO many dogs. Thank you for trusting me with them!!

UPDATE: Gauge has found himself a great new home!!! Thank you everyone for sharing and reaching out! We’re so grateful!

This awesome one eyed Malinois, Gauge, is still available and in need of a home or at least a foster home immediately. As far as the Malinois breed goes he’s pretty chill and would make a great candidate as a pet. He does have a high play/ball drive, but not an aggressive bone in his body. No real prey drive, he’s great with other dogs… small dogs included, he’s good with cats, he will chase them if they run, but he has a great recall and he’s good with kids. He loves to hug!! Yes I said hug! He cannot get enough love and attention from his humans. He is so funny and goofy! If I had different living conditions I wouldn’t hesitate to keep him for myself. we are closing our kennels down so finding him a great home is critical. Edit: He was found in a field and there were livestock in the field… a gentleman driving by saw him lying out there and took him to the vet. He is good with little dogs and he has been with cats, but he does try to play and chase them… he wasn’t given the freedom to see if it would go further. This dog doesn’t have a mean bone in his body though.

Hey everyone I could use some help finding this sweet guy a forever home! His name is Gauge and he is an almost 3 year old Malinois. He is one of our boarding dogs who’s family has had some hardships recently and they are unable to keep him. Rather than sending him to a shelter we happily offered to let him stay with us while looking for his forever home. If I had the space I would 100% keep him, but that is unfortunately not the case. As you can see he only has one eye as a result of being shot when he was younger…. I believe he was chasing a neighbors livestock. This injury has in no way slowed him down, affected his temperament, confidence or happy disposition. He is one of the sweetest dogs I’ve ever met and he LOVES loves and gives the best hugs. He is a Malinois so he is a high energy dog and as previously stated he does have a prey drive so I’m not sure how well he’d do with cats or small dogs. He is great with my 5 year old and 14 year old and would play catch with them all day if we would let him. He is great with other dogs (I just would not recommend little dogs without a slow introduction process). He is an amazing dog, he’s smart, he’s fun, he’s goofy…..I really can’t say enough good things about him. Here’s just a super quick video I threw together. I wish you could see it better, but if there’s a fence between you and him he pushes his body against the fence as if he’s trying to squeeze through like the blob….it’s one of the cutest things I’ve ever seen a dog do lol I very much love this guy and need him to find the home he deserves!!!!

This is Oso and his sister in the background is Cruella. He LOVES this Jolly-ball it’s the second one he’s gone through so far, I’m gonna have to keep some on stock just for him … This crazy dog does this all the time!!!! The lines in the rock are all from him and I cannot figure out what the heck he’s doing!!😂 I love this dog 😂

This is Zeus he’s staying with us for a bit and he’s also looking for his forever home. He is a pure bred Malamute and I have a whole book of info on him if anyone is interested. He’s currently (minus his visit with us) back with his breeder until the right home can be found. He is a BIG boy, but SUPER sweet, good with kids, likes to play and he’s great on leash. My phone is full of pictures and videos of your guys’ dogs…I’m just terrible at posting them 🤦🏻‍♀️ I WANT to put them into compilation videos of everyone’s dogs, but by the end of the day I’m beat and then just don’t post because I’m not posting what I originally wanted to post…..it’s a whole thing, I know…. I’m definitely going to work on that this summer though!!!! So here is Re*****on helping with our walks from yesterday, he’s walking Leo a GIANT sweetheart! Like seriously a teddy bear….a teddy bear with a lot of drool hahaha

When you have two Malinois and two Dutchies (only 1 in the video) you get creative. I went and played fetch with each individual dog while also playing fetch with the other two so they got 3 times the play…… 3 birds 1 stone lol

I’d like to start by saying thank you guys for coming along with us while we travel this rollercoater of life LOL We have spoken with the owners of our facility/property and luckily they want us to stay out here! We were able to work out a deal and we’ll be staying for another year, at least, doing just boarding. We’re excited that we’ll be able to see all of our furry friends again. I will be running the boarding by myself for the most part. I will have to cut back the number of dogs I take in at one time so schedule out now if you know you’ll be bringing them by. Thanks for your patience and flexibility lol

This is Tigger and we are looking for his forever home. I’m not gonna lie we love this dog and we were planning on keeping him. However; we are in the process of shutting our kennels down and have to find homes for the rescue/rehabs that we took in. We have too many personal dogs already, a cat and will be adding a police K-9 soon…..it would be unfair to Tigger given the attention he needs/deserves. He is an awesome dog with a ton of potential!!! He needs an owner who is familiar with his breed, his mom is a Malinois’ and his dad is a Dutchie. He wasn’t socialized a lot as a puppy so he does have some fear reactions, but he’s good at looking to his handler for guidance. He does have a strong prey drive so no cats or small animals and he would be best in a home as an only dog. He is great with kids, but should still be supervised and not be overstimulated by the kids. He doesn’t try to hurt them, but he is mouthy and can “play” hard especially when overstimulated. We are sorry to officially announce the closing of our doors. February 2023 will be our last month accepting boarding and we will no longer be doing training. It’s hard walking away from something that has been so successful and brought so many great people into our lives, but another opportunity has presented itself and we’re very excited for the future.

We will also be moving (still within the New Plymouth area) so if anyone is interested in leasing the kennels/barn and the 40 acrers that we’ve been leasing they will be available the beginning of March. The owners of the property are amazing people and we would love to stay, but it’s just more than we need now that we’re getting out of the civilian side dog business. Thank you everyone for trusting us with your furry family members, we loved all of them!

We’re still looking for Bruin’s forever home as well as another dog (Tigger, Dutch Shepherd) who I will post later today or tomorrow. We will not have enough room to take these “rehab” dogs with us so if you or anyone you know is interested please reach out to us. Thank you again for all the love and support we’ve received over the years!

💯!!!

The fancy sports car, the new computer, the pricey camera, the tricked out mountain bike…

Regardless how much you spent, or how much thought, effort and expertise went into making these and other amazing but complex items a reality—without specific, deep, and well-practiced knowledge about how to actually use them how they were intended, they will remain expensive/cool things with amazing potential…that you are sadly unable to utilize and enjoy.

And thus, it’s the precisely the same with dog training. The very best training in the world means absolutely nothing if you are unable to utilize/implement it due to lack of knowledge.

So what’s an owner to do? Simple. Demand that your trainer trains you at least as rigorously as they have your dog. And if your trainer is unable to provide this most critical aspect of the training process, it’s time to find a trainer who can actually do their job—the entire job.

When winter hits hard and you have to get creative to keep the dogs warm! Not our first choice, but it keeps the wind out and they do have heated floors in their houses!! The dogs seem to LOVE the houses! We watch the temperature pretty close too so adjustments get made depending on the dog. They also get brought into the office and kenneled in the evening for bed just to make sure they stay safe and comfortable. We love the dogs and make sure they’re taken care of no matter what.

Training with Maya and Cato yesterday. I sped the videos up to get through them faster. I was going to overlay music, but it’s kind of entertaining in “chipmunk” mode LOL Remington actually sounds like Alvin from the Chipmunks. I might go back and reload it with music overlay though.

This is Mya she’s another Board & Train staying with us. She is an awesome and well rounded dog, but has some intense separation anxiety. She also LOVES breaking out of her backyard to hangout in the front yard LOL We’re going to help build her confidence up and work on her containment issues.

We have been SO busy between our training and our boarding and our board and trains….unfortunately social media has taken a backseat and we just haven’t had time to edit and/or post videos. This is Cato, I messed up and didn’t get any initial videos of this guy and I desperately regret that! He had/has some SERIOUS issues calming down, always over stimulated… he’s a VERY high strung German Shorthair Pointer to say the least which is part of why he’s here. You couldn’t do anything with him without incessant whining, he’s a very sweet dog, but his impulse control has been non existent. He’s already making SO much progress!!!! It’s hard to believe the dog in this video is the same dog that we got just under a week ago, we are so excited to see him turning into a much happier and at peace dog.

Bruin/Flash is doing great, he’s slowly learning how to be a dog and it’s so funny to watch. Six is teaching him how to play appropriately and how to “dog”. I wish you could see his crazy eyes better in this video, he’s just a goofy little dog once he gets past being scared of everything. He still has a ways to go, but he’s doing better and better everyday.

UPDATE: Bruin (Flash) is doing great! This once “runner” is able to be off leash around the property without fence and we are confident that he’s sticking around. He hangs out with me off-leash while I take care of the Ducks, Geese, Turkeys, Chickens and Quail, he just hangs out minding his business. *This was the only video I had left on my phone with him and the birds after having to delete everything. We are still working through a lot of his confidence issues, but he has already come a long way. We’ll keep working with him to continue his progress.

Just had to share the clip of Tom washing the dog pee off his leg LOL 😂 Trigger gets so excited to see him every time he comes out that he happy pees all over the place…. Including on Tom! You can also see Goku (the puppy) trying to walk Trigger with his leash

Tom got some great training in with Trigger today! He’s on point… even with the kids running around and yelling, us standing there talking and the puppy Goku running around he stays on target. This guy is doing great considering he just had 9 months off of training due to an injury! He’s well on his way to being bomb proof again. Good job Janie Owyhee Mountain German Shepherd for keeping up with him even while he was on break technically.

Worked some off leash obedience with our 2 week board train Lucy. She is a 7 month old Great Pyrenees and this is only her 6th day with us. She’s doing great!
