Happy Vet Tech Appreciation Week to our amazing Jenna💗

This girl does it ALL. Works full time keeping our practice running smoothly, finishing up her undergraduate studies with plans to attend veterinary school next year, 2 horses she somehow finds time to ride most days, and surely a few things we’re forgetting!

We are in awe and truly do appreciate her more than we could ever put into words! We love watching her blossom into an amazing future equine veterinarian, and will be rooting her on every step of the way🫶🏼💕🐴

Nutrition is key!🔑🐴

We spend a ton of time educating on this topic, but there’s never enough time to cover it all and we quite frankly aren’t specialists in this area. Which is why we love working with an incredible nutritionist that truly cares and takes the time needed for every individual horse. We’ve learned so much from Rachael and truly appreciate the team effort to keep our mutual patients in tip-top condition!🐎

In the time we knew Sonic, he has impacted us profoundly. We will never forget this special boy or the incredible bond he had with the people that loved him so deeply❤️‍🩹

We miss and love you so much, Sonic!🕊️🐴🤍

Welcoming to the world our beautiful baby girl, Eden Grace 💕
Born at 12:00 am on June 10th, 2024.
Weighing 9 lbs, 5 oz, 21.5” long.

She was born at home, 11 days past my due date, surrounded by family, prayer, anointing, and worship music. God answered our prayers and then some!🙏🏼 This song was the staple of both my births and fills me with all the emotions every time I hear it. I’m completely overwhelmed by the goodness of God and His love and care for every little detail of our lives. Even when He feels far, there is so much He’s working out for good. Just learning to be still and remember that in all situations. 🙏🏼

Thank you to my midwife, Sizzly and her assistant for keeping us safe physically and spiritually 💕 and for preparing me mentally for home birth. And thank you to Ellaine for taking care of my body and helping me to keep working comfortably in a very physically demanding job as long as I did! I’m blown away by what the human body is capable of. And it really takes a village!🤍 Thankful to spend these first few weeks with so much support from our family and friends. And big brother Roman is doing incredibly well with this big transition. We are beyond blessed!❤️‍🔥

We are thrilled to announce our most recent rehab graduate is back at home, exceeding all of our expectations!❤️‍🩹

Meg was with us for about 2 weeks for laminitis management and rehabilitation. She had been struggling with laminitis flares over the last few months, and had more rotation than we were all comfortable with. We all knew if she continued to rotate, we were going to have major problems. So, we nailed down a diet and program that worked for her, worked closely with her fantastic farrier, got to love on her, and watch her become her sassy self again! We planned to have her longer, but she improved so well we were happy to send her back home as soon as she was ready🥹
Since we met her after her laminitis started, we only knew her as a quiet, subdued horse. We were pleasantly surprised to see her become spritely and full of personality as she began to feel better and better❤️‍🩹

Prior to this set back, she was a wonderful therapy horse. We cannot wait to see her back in action once she is ready. She is a special girl and we are grateful to her owner and therapy program for trusting us with her care and rehabilitation!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible mamas out there!🌷Horses and humans alike, mothers make the world a special place💐

While we’re at it, thought it’d be a great time to give a Dr. Van Horn pregnancy update🤰
We’re still out here working as long as we can💪🏼 Being that Dr. Kaylin is 37+ weeks pregnant now, we know our time is limited.

We have cut back to M,W,F appointments with just T/Th for limited urgent/emergent issues only. We are booking up these last few weeks of May, but have a few open spots left if you have anything you would like to schedule before she gives birth and goes on maternity leave. Donna and Jenna will still be available for technician appointments, dropping off or leaving out medications for pick-up, answering phone calls, texts, emails, etc! They will keep the ball rolling so we can hit the ground running again as soon as our doc has recovered and spent some well-earned time with her precious newborn!💕👶🏻

We are honored to serve all of our amazing clients and patients! We will officially announce when Dr. Kaylin has started maternity leave, and when she resumes appointments again.

Dr. Emily Weaver of , and Dr. Fay Herrero of Odessa Equine will be covering emergencies while Dr. Van Horn is out. We will be sure to include their contact info on an automatic reply on our phone line as well.

Don’t hesitate to reach out with questions in the meantime! We appreciate everyone’s understanding during this exciting time👶🏻💕

We are very excited to be offering a new service! Bone marrow aspiration for stall-side regenerative cell collection, processing, and injection💉🩸

Dr. Liberty Getman Murray, Barbie Steinman, and Zoetis Equine were a fantastic support, and we are very much looking forward to using more of this autologous, steroid-free regenerative medicine therapy! This is the same company that makes Pro-Stride and Restigen that we’ve had fantastic results with, and many of our clients have come to love.
The final product is fresh, processed in about 15 minutes, and is a concentrated solution of mesenchymal stem cells, endothelial progenitor cells, hematopoietic stem cells, IRAP, and tissue-healing growth factors. This is an excellent treatment option for soft-tissue lesions, OCD management, facilitation of fracture repair, as well as moderate-advanced osteoarthritis🦴 We were pleasantly surprised by how simple and straight forward the bone marrow aspiration process was! How cool is it that we can harvest a horse’s own stem cells, concentrate them down and inject them into an injured area, all in less than an hour!

We also want to say a big thank you to this wonderful family and mare for being the best first case to perform this procedure on. With Dr. Van Horn at 35 weeks pregnant, she could not have been a more perfect patient! Swipe to see the bone marrow aspiration process in action➡️

Afterwards, we injected the final product ultrasound-guided in her stifle to treat a medial meniscus injury❤️‍🩹
