We are looking to hire an experienced barn hand part-time that will join our Four D Haven Family!
Our barn is in Pasco County off of State Road 54, making it easily assessable and centrally located to many New Port Richey, Trinity, and Odessa neighborhoods. The quality of care we provide is known well to those who trust us with their horses, and we will not waiver from that quality as their care is the most important thing to us.
Below are just some of the qualities, experiences, and requirements needed to be considered for this position:
-Someone who is nurturing, caring, and empathetic. The horses that board at Four D Haven are treated with the upmost compassion and respect.
-Someone who is self-motivated and hard working. Barn work is hard work! You must be able to stay motivated through hot summers and cold winters to complete the necessary manual labor required every shift.
-Someone who is punctual and reliable. The horses don’t understand time, but they know if they’re being fed or brought in late. They count on us for their care and to keep them on schedule. Horses must be fed day and night, rain or shine, in sickness and in health, through hell or high waters…you get the point. Reliable transportation is necessary for this job.
-Someone who is organized and detail oriented. We care for 22 incredible horses…all with different personalities, diets, supplements, manners, and medicines. It is very important their care is maintained properly. Being able to follow instructions/charts/lists is a must.
-Someone who has prior experience working with and handling horses. We will be asking for references.
-Someone who has availability to work AM and PM shifts, weekends, and some holidays.
