Taking care of tropical birds in the best of times can be challenging. When changes occur, such
as the passing of a spouse, or environmental tragedies, such as the California fires, these birds
may suffer malnutrition, dehydration, and even death. Because of the unique needs of these
aviary creatures, organizations have been established to assist in maintaining these birds' health
and well-being. The 501 c3 Tropical Avian Oasis and Rescue is a unique organization located in
New Port Richey, Florida. This organization provides education, nurturing, and research into avian
behavior, development, and cognitive skills. This research will be published to encourage proper
handling of these beautiful birds.
