Noudle Tip of the Day: A tired dog is a well-behaved dog.
🐾 Daily Walks: Taking your dog for a 15-30 min walk is an excellent way to provide exercise and mental stimulation. It allows them to explore the environment, encounter different scents, and engage with their surroundings.
🐾 Fetch: Playing fetch with a ball or a Frisbee can be a great physical exercise for your dog. It also helps them practice obedience and improves their coordination skills.
🐾 Tug-of-War: Engaging in a game of tug-of-war with your dog using a rope toy is a fun way to provide physical exercise and mental stimulation (plus a fun way to interact with your dog!)
🐾 Interactive Toys: There are various interactive toys available that require your dog to solve puzzles or find hidden treats. These toys keep their minds engaged and provide mental stimulation.
🐾 Obedience Training: Teaching your dog new commands and tricks not only enhances their obedience skills but also keeps them mentally active. It challenges their cognitive abilities and strengthens the bond between you and your dog.
🐾 Scent Work: Dogs have an incredible sense of smell, and engaging them in scent work activities taps into their natural instincts. You can hide treats or toys around the house or yard and encourage them to find them using their nose. (I love to throw a handful of treats in a field and let my dog sniff them out!)
🐾 Agility Training: Set up an agility course in your backyard or enroll your dog in an agility class. It involves navigating through tunnels, jumping over hurdles, and weaving through poles. This activity provides both physical exercise and mental stimulation.
🐾 Food-Dispensing Toys: Use food-dispensing toys or puzzle feeders that require your dog to work for their meals. This stimulates their problem-solving skills and keeps them entertained while eating.
