How PAWSOME is it that our Elko Dog Park officially opened one year ago on November 18th!!! Eleven months to raise the funding and build the park through government, civic and private business collaboration - and, now it's been open for a year! Please continue to enjoy the park, keep it clean and meet new neighbors!

NUTS!!! Walnuts, that is. Can you help Saturday morning Oct. 28th? We'll be picking up walnuts rain or shine! Kerri and Paul Brothers will be at the dog park at 9:30 AM to pick up walnuts. Bring a bucket, fun attitude and dog to help remove the ankle twisters!

There once was a pup named Stu
He loved to run, jump, catch and chew
His Mom often took him to the Elko Park
Where he could romp, chomp and bark
He asked that all his playmates pick up their POO!

Our gratitude and thanks to five of our donors!

What a great Friday afternoon we had for the Elko Memorial Dog Park grand opening! I’ve been reflecting on the park, the project and the opening this weekend. My mentor and friend, Bob Lees, frequently reminds me how special New Richmond is and what a great community we have. I’ve come to learn over the last year that Bob’s characterization our Village is “spot on”. Our Elko Memorial Dog Park reflects the Village’s community spirit and is the result of our extraordinary community. I am proud to have been the one to nudge and prod folks for money and labor, and “patrol” the activity over the last year. The key to our success was (and is) the collaboration among government (Village of New Richmond, Clermont County Park District, and Ohio Township), Renaissance New Richmond, Inc., our local businesses, and our area residents. Each sector of our community contributed without hesitation, and we built the dog park in less than one year after receiving $20,000 from Purina. Thanks to everyone who helped! Please spread the word about our great new amenity and have a PAWSOME time at the park!

A huge thank you to Rick Mahan and his PAWSOME group of "Kids Into Nice Deeds" who shoveled, raked, cleaned and smoothed areas of the dog park today. Along with a shout-out to Kerri and Paul Brothers who worked shoulder to shoulder! Our community is so fortunate to have leaders who give back and make NR even better than it already is!

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you, Kim Metz for your and Toyota's matching donation of $2,000!!! We are thrilled with the community support that is funding the dog park. Folks like you, Kim, and the other donors are driving this project to reality!!! Our funding now stands at $55,179!!! Who can help with plumbing? We need to tie into existing water line laterals to plumb canine water stations in each park. Do I hear any in-kind (tax deductible) PLUMBERS ready to help?

We are so excited to share we are REALLY close to our funding goal. We've had recent in-kind labor donation commitments that brought us within about $5,000 of our need. We have committed funding of $53,100. Just look at the support in our community! Because of these recent donations our total funding goal is now $57,025. Can you help? Every dollar goes to the dog park - whether it's $5 or $1,000, which will provide a park bench with YOUR NAME on a plaque (and, we already have two purchased)!!! Or, if you'd prefer a personally engraved and displayed paw print, please donate $100. We thank the community and our sponsors for this funding that we've secured in about six months!
We have the plan, and Together Everyone Achieves More!!!!

More progress!!! A big thanks to Ed and Mindy Horgan for covering the cost of clearing and excavating!!! The old concrete slabs are staged for removal!
Can you help cover the cost of canine water fountains or dog leash posts or signage? We are getting closer and closer to our goal.

Funding needs are for fence, land clearing, benches, concrete entrances and bench pads, canine and human water fountain, and water main tap. Can you sponsor one of these park features?
