Day 2 of relocating these bees! I feel like I'm going to need to take a tree climbing class or learn how to safely secure myself 😅

I was able to get a generator to get the last of the bees out of the tree using my bee vac before the storm hit. They were not happy, but I'd rather they were cranky with me than dead.

Got a call today about some honeybees in a tree. After the storm went through last night, this tree broke in half and exposed a hive. Thankfully, this hive was only 12-15 feet high, and I was able to reach it with a ladder.

I carefully pulled out each chunk of comb and placed them into some empty frames. I was racing the sunlight, so I wasn't able to get as much as I wanted to but was able to get 90% of the comb out and into a bee box. I'm hoping the rest of the bees will follow, I was unable to locate the queen this time around.

I will be going back tomorrow 🤗

Swarm number 3 of the season, thankfully, these girls were in the height range of a 5'-2" beekeeper 😅

I was hard at work getting the swarm i didn't take any pictures.
So enjoy my shameless screen grabs from the wonderful homeowners that wanted them relocated.

Caught a swarm yesterday that decided to make their home in the siding under the window (THANKFULLY). The owners were under construction and wanted to safely relocate the bees.

It was a tough job, but we'll worth the effort!

Caught a swarm yesterday! These girls were so gentle and eager to get to a safe place. I set my bee box down and they started marching in right away!
