💔”LOVE DEPARTED”💔

It has been a bit, last weekend, since I had to make the heartbreaking decision to say goodbye to one more of our sanctuary friends. Silas, you wete your own kind of dog and you are so missed. Your quirky moments, your demanding barks, your “I will just dig myself a hole where I please, your “I will come in when I am damn ready” moments, all will be remembered. You once were someones pet then dumped on the side of a road in your crate as if you were a bother. I would say fate brought you to the GGOH doorstep when a passerby saw you with your injured ear and leg after struggling to let yourself out of your crate. Fixed up and ready for action you then proceeded to get adopted 3 times but somehow Gregory’s was what you called “HOME” so you returned. Always welcome and loved this is where you stayed and we knew you were home. Your best friend, Rocky, is missing you too but we are both comforted by the fact that you can now rest easy and pain free.

Goodbye dear soul, you were a one and only.💔✝️🙏🏻

OUR SUNDAY SPOTLIGHT…

Many people don’t know that we are a safe haven for several special needs kitties that would have otherwise been euthanized for circcumstances beyond their control.

MEET CALLIE, this beautiful young gal was brought to us a few years ago after being hit by a car and left with her injury for months before seeking help for her. This left her with permanent damage and the inability to walk correctly and needing assistance with elimination. Callie has over the years seen our specialists, received physical therapy and has monthly chiropractic visits to keep her moving and active. This little love is so very very sweet, is very affectionate and can be a real snuggle bug. Callie has such a great personality despite her challenges and surely would keep anyone entertained and be a great companion.

All this being said, many like Callie never get a chance at a home life because they would need adaptations to their environment. Don’t get me wrong, it can be done, we have done it and provide great care for her everyday along with several others with special needs as well as our 175 + kitties awaiting furever homes. If you have ever considered adopting a special needs kitty I would say Callie is a definite “must meet” and hey you never know LOVE can overcome a lot of what one sees as obstacles and a happy ending can be had.

Next up Our Boy Wonder, Mr. Mustard Has Left The Building…

This boy has been through so much in his year with us here at GGOH. Coming in due to being found in such poor condition and unable to very see well due to an untreated virus. He immediately was started on medications and we have spent the year trying to improve his vision as much as possible. A couple surgeries and medications and a little more work to be done and we will have done all that can be done. In the meantime Mr. Mustard has found his way into Ben’s heart and has set off on his new adventure in life and will now be with his new human who is going to love this boy regardless of his ability to see clearly or not.

This is one special boy who is loved by many and has a way of finding his way into your heart. Thanks Ben for seeing the potential in Mr. Mustard and adding this sweet boy to your family. Your going to love this boys sunny disposition even though he has faced his share of challenges.

It is with a heavy heart that we post the loss of our sweet love Orbit. Fighting Panleukopenia is so very hard especially if you are a tiny kitten with an already compromised immune system when you were born to an unvaccinated young stray mother.

The amount of cats in need right now is staggering. The rescues are over their limits, cats and kittens are dying daily and where do we turn? How do we stop this insanity? When do we get a break from a heart that is always hurting?😢

While Orbit has lost his fight, just as his sister, Moonlight did ontly 8 days ago, his mother, Luna, is currently fighting for her own life. Please say a prayer for our sweet momma who is fighting and her little ones who have passed. 🙏🏻

Update On Our Little Family Who Came In After Being Found Emaciated, URI’s, Dehydrated, Fleas And Lice.

Well now after several days of medical attention, a vet visit, lots of love and care they are all doing well. Momma is gaining weight, looking much better, even began playing with her kiddos. The babies are eating well, growing and seem to be pretty energetic and playful. Their lice is clearing up, skin and fur looking good. They just needed a hand, a few hearts who cared and a chance to have their lives.

We are busting at the seams and dealing with lots of medical issues here at the facility but it never deters us from making sure everyone in our care has what they need and receives the utmost care from our volunteer team.

“THERE’S ALWAYS ROOM FOR ONE MORE” make that 4 😮❤️🐾

We received this scared mother and her 3 little ones several days back as they had no where to turn. We have been so overwhelmed here at the facility that this little family got to go to foster with our special friend/volunteer, Gretchen, and her family, to have some time to decompress and learn they were safe and would be alright now.

As we have been doing, we took in this family with no where to turn. Some may say “you can not save them all”. This is very true and many you will not because you will never see them but shame on us to turn our back on those right in front of our faces. We make it work, its not always ideal we know but tell that to an animal rescuers ❤️.

IT’S THAT TIME AGAIN, SAME DAY OF THE WEEK FOR ME TO TELL YOU…

We Need Your Help And We Are Once Again Putting Ourselves Out There Asking For Those who Speak Another Language. We are already drowning in veterinary bills and when an emergency happens we are seriously between a rock and a hard place. We do as much as we can here on site, believe me its a lot and time consuming, but some things we have no choice. Today Luna and her baby Orbit needed ER care. They are both fighters and we are giving them the chances they deserve.

This is really hard to swallow as we see nothing but dollars adding onto an already devastating bill. It’s sometimes so hard to balance the caring, the heartbreak and the constant reminder of how much society can put a dollar sign on lives. It’s very hard to swallow when we see it in a different light, THESE LIVES, AS ANY ARE PRICELESS.

These sweet little loves needed some help, we all filled up, as is everyone else, but where could they go? All alone, left by their mother who disapperared. Much to often this is happening, babies being born, mothers getting sick and dying or killed while trying to take care of their babies. I pray it could end and it could if we could just step up and SPAY AND NEUTER!!!! To much suffering and pain to watch. WE REALLY CAN DO BETTER THAN THIS☹️

Some Thursday Night Catch Up…

It’s been so busy around here so I have to try and get some updates done when I have a minute or two.🙂

Our sweet girl Sushi has left the building…(2 weeks ago) and was reunited with her besti, Lainey. Both Lainey and Sushi are FIP survivors who got a chance at their new lives by being lucky enough to have crossed paths with Gregory’s where they received their life saving treatments. Why? Because they all deserve a chance and it’s the right thing to do!❤️❤️

🎉Some uplifting news… Our sweet little Roger has been improving everyday. After our checkup last week and our continued medical care Roger has had great improvement in his eyesight and in the process of saving his one eye that had a severe injury to it. 🙏🏻

Roger and his little sister, Reese, would love to have a furever home together. These two are very bonded and love to play together. If you’d like a fun, cuddly, entertaining duo to add to your family come meet these two soon.

We have had a very tough week. Because we deal with many medical needs and a larger numbers of kittens we have our hearts broken far more than one should have to.

Mork, along with his sister Mindy, were brought to Gregory’s when they were found in need of medical care. Only 5 weeks old, respiratory and eye infections and malnourished, they needed help immediately. Sometimes they respond to treatment, look and act much better but something is going on we can not anticipate. Mork passed in his sleep after a day of playing and romping with his sister. Bless this sweet little soul, we are fortunate enough to have helped you even if we had to say goodbye far to soon.❤️✝️🙏🏻

The amount of time that it takes to help 1 or 2 cats in need of medical care is a lot for any organization but we don’t just have 1 or 2 we have several cases. We have a mom and her babies who are all malnourished and were covered in fleas, we have a mom and her two babies who looked healthy upon arrival but looks can be deceiving and they are battling Toxoplasmosis in which we just lost one of our dear sweet kittens (Moonlight), we have many singletons who have come in carrying upper respiratory infections, eye infections, FIP and just very run down. It is very disheartening day in and day out to keep receiving the daily requests for help. We live in an area, and are surrounded by farm areas, where we seem to just turn a blind eye until it becomes a problem and then its a big problem for others. WHY CAN’T WE GET THIS UNDER CONTROL? DO NOT THINK ITS SOMEONE ELSE’S PROBLEM. Ask for assistance right from the start, find a spay neuter program - GET THEM FIXED!! To much suffering, to many hearts broken.

We are here to care for “those who speak another language” and we give it our all. We THANK ALL OF YOU!!! who continuously support our efforts and care so much for the abandoned, injured, ill animals in our community and the surrounding areas.
