🎉 We did it!! 🎉

I am beyond ecstatic to announce that Barx and Bubbles has won Best of St. Croix Valley 2024 in the Pet Grooming category! 🏆🐾

The past four years have been a whirlwind of emotions—from the highs and lows of being a business owner to the challenges of balancing work with being a stay-at-home mom. It hasn’t always been easy, but I wouldn’t trade this journey for anything. Growing up on a farm, I knew from a young age that I wanted to work with animals, and this dream has truly come to life.

None of this would be possible without all of you—my incredible clients who feel more like family. Your trust in me to make your pets look and feel their best is something I’m forever grateful for. And taking the time to vote means more than words can express. 🙏💕

Just a quick reminder that as the sole groomer at Barx and Bubbles, I’m typically booked out about two-three weeks. If you’d like to avoid waiting for an opening, you can pre-book your appointments anytime. Whether you want to schedule one appointment or book out the whole year, it’s completely up to you. 🐶✂️

With the holidays approaching, appointments are already filling up fast. 🎄 If you want to make sure your pup is looking their best for the season, I recommend booking now to secure your spot.

🌸 Allergy Season is Here, and It's No Joke!🌸

Is your pup scratching like crazy? You're definitely not alone—seasonal allergies are hitting hard right now! Itchy skin, discomfort, and even those dreaded open sores can be super common this time of year. Excessive itching and scratching can lead to hotspots—painful, inflamed areas of skin that can quickly become infected if not treated.

But don’t stress, there are some things you can try at home to help your furry friend feel better:

💊 Benadryl -This over-the-counter option works for some pups, offering quick relief for mild symptoms. However, it doesn’t always do the trick, especially for more severe allergies.

💊Apoquel -If Benadryl isn't enough, ask your vet about Apoquel. It’s a stronger option that specifically targets itchiness caused by allergies and tends to be more effective, but it can also be a bit more expensive.

💉 Monthly Allergy Shots (Cytopoint) -For long-term relief, monthly allergy shots from your vet can make a big difference, especially for dogs with persistent or severe allergies. While these shots can be more expensive upfront than Apoquel, they might be worth it for ongoing relief.

🧴 Medicated Shampoo Treatments -Don’t forget, I also offer specialized medicated shampoo treatments here at Barx and Bubbles. Whether your pup is dealing with itchy skin, yeast infections, or bacterial problems, these shampoos can help soothe irritation, reduce itching, and promote healing—especially for those pesky hotspots.

If your dog is struggling with allergies, reach out! Let’s get them feeling comfy and happy again. 🐾

Let's talk about nail trims for our furry friends! 💅

Regular nail care is crucial for your pet's comfort and health. Long nails can lead to discomfort and even lifelong issues with foot structure. But remember, the longer the nail grows, the longer the quick (vein) inside the nail grows too. So, sometimes we can't trim as short as we'd like without risking cutting the quick.

Check out the transformation in the picture! It's amazing what a nail trim can do to improve your pet's well-being. Let's keep those nails trimmed and our pets happy and healthy! ❤️🐶🐱
